Itinerary

Day One

Travel to Basel, and join Olympia in time for dinner. Enjoy a first evening on board, or perhaps step ashore for a stroll.

Day Two

See the sights of Basel this morning on a stroll through the bustling altstadt, or join our optional excursion into the heart of Switzerland to visit the beautiful lakeside city of Lucerne, with its restored wooden 'Chapel Bridge'. Rejoin Olympia in time for dinner in the charming wine town of Breisach, where she'll moor overnight.

Day Three

Spend the morning exploring Breisach - the views out over the forest region from atop its Gothic cathedral are lovely - then enjoy a lazy afternoon of sailing as Olympia cruises downstream to moor close to Strasbourg.

Day Four

Transfer into the heart of Strasbourg for a morning of exploring. A fascinating optional excursion brings the chance to see the city by boat, as you travel along the winding canals to marvel at the soaring Notre-Dame cathedral - one of France's great Gothic churches - as well as the buildings of the European Parliament and the Council of Europe. Rejoin Olympia during the afternoon for her sailing to ancient Speyer.

Day Five

Join our Tour Manager on a short included walking tour of Speyer, once one of the most important cities in the Holy Roman Empire, then rejoin the ship for the short trip to Mannheim, where an optional excursion offers the chance to visit beautiful Heidelberg. One of Germany's 'must-see' destinations, Heidelberg has inspired poets and operetta composers for centuries.

Rejoin Olympia in Mainz, and enjoy an evening of exploration in this historic city, home to a gorgeous old town and a magnificent cathedral.

Day Six

You're treated to delightful scenery today, as Olympia makes her way through some of the most spectacular stretches of the Rhine. She'll firstly call at Rudesheim, famous for its bustling Drosselgasse, where an optional excursion brings the chance to visit Siegfried's Musikkabinett and travel on the local 'Winzer Express' train.

Return to the ship for a journey into the gorgeous Middle Rhine, where vineyards, castles and quaint villages pepper the landscape. Later, we'll arrive in Koblenz in time for dinner and an evening of exploration.

Day Seven

Olympia continues downriver, sailing past Konigswinter, the rolling Siebengebirge hills and leafy Bonn, to arrive in Cologne by midday. See the sights on our optional walking tour, the highlight of which will be the magnificent twin-spired cathedral.

Day Eight

Olympia sails through beautiful windmill-dotted landscapes this morning, as she crosses into Holland on her way to Amsterdam. On arrival, join our included canal cruise along the city's pretty waterways to take in the colourful highlights, before a final evening brings the chance to step ashore and explore or relax on board.

Day Nine

Bid farewell to Olympia, and transfer to your hotel in Amsterdam.

Day 10

You're free to spend the day enjoying the delights of the Dutch capital. Visit the excellent museums, take a stroll in Vondelpark and discover its pretty canals.

Day 11

Check out of your hotel and say goodbye to Amsterdam, today, as you make your own way home after a wonderful holiday.

The dress code on board and ashore is casual. After 7pm, in the lounge and restaurant, shorts are not permitted, and footwear and a shirt or T-shirt must be worn.
