Our Tour Manager will be waiting to meet you as you arrive in Olbia, today. The hotel is just a short coach ride from the airport, and, depending on your time of arrival, you'll be free to relax and perhaps wander into town.
After a relaxed breakfast, board the coach for a leisurely introduction to the sun-kissed Costa Smeralda, one of the world's most celebrated holiday playgrounds. Idyllic hidden coves, stunning beaches fringed by azure waters, tiny offshore islets and the ultra-chic 'capital' Porto Cervo all contribute to the allure of this unique location. After the introductory tour, return to the hotel, perhaps to enjoy the spa facilities (treatments payable locally) or more likely to head for the beach.
Today's included excursion journeys to historic Alghero, the principal town of Sardinia's north. Explore the Old Quarter, with its 16th-century cathedral, narrow, cobbled streets and stout battlements. Colourful piazzas and the busy port are lined with bars and restaurants, and the sweeping promenade stretches away past magnificent beaches, looking across to rocky promontory Capo Caccia, which resembles a sleeping giant. After a marvellous day you'll return to Olbia for a last evening.
Bid farewell to your Sardinian hosts and journey to Santa Teresa di Gallura for the sailing across the sound to Corsica, making landfall at the exquisite natural harbour and stunning fortified town of Bonifacio, set high upon wind- and wave-weathered cliffs in one of the Mediterranean's most spectacular locations. The tourist train will take you up to the famous haute ville to enjoy the stunning views, or perhaps visit one of the cafes that line the quayside. Then, re-board the coach for the onward scenic journey to Ajaccio for a four-night stay, enjoying a first dinner at the hotel.
A half-day guided excursion introduces island capital Ajaccio, birthplace of Napoleon Bonaparte, whose fame is recognised in the Cite Imperiale. Set on a stunning, sweeping bay, Ajaccio is a fascinating place, with its ancient old town, its countless restaurants and cafes and its towering citadelle, which surveys the colourful vista. After the tour, spend more time in exploration and discovery, or return to the hotel to enjoy rest and relaxation by the pool or in the Wellness Centre.
Today is free to enjoy all the pleasures of the Residence or beach. The energetic might hire a bicycle from the hotel, while others head back to explore more of Ajaccio's delights. The choices - and the pleasures - are yours.
A last enjoyable included excursion sees you head to the scenic nature reserve overlooking the blue Gulf of Porto, where the fantastical, UNESCO-listed Calanches are a collection of towering, oddly shaped and eroded, pink granite rock formations, carved by nature over millennia into the shapes of animals and other figures. The road winds through the reserve from sleepy Piana and down to exquisite Porto, with its tiny harbour, pebbly beach and ancient watchtower. Join the optional cruise along the coast to Capo Rosso for the best views of the towering Calanches, and return to the hotel for a last dinner.
Bid farewell to Ajaccio, as you make the scenic transfer back to Bonifacio, take the ferry back to Santa Teresa di Gallura and head back to Olbia for the return flight, at the end of a truly wonderful two-island holiday.Back to top

The transfer time from the airport to your hotel is approximately 15 minutes. On departure, the transfer time from your hotel to the airport will take approximately five hours, including the ferry crossing from Corsica to Sardinia.
Combining hotel transfers
We sometimes need to combine transfers to and from your hotel. Occasionally, for operational reasons, we may have to change the order of the excursions on your holiday. The final day-by-day itinerary will be confirmed on your Final Travel Documents, which you will receive approximately three weeks prior to your departure.
Changes to your hotels
Should circumstances require, we reserve the right to accommodate you in alternative hotels, of a similar standard, nearby. Full details of your hotels will be sent with your Final Travel Documents.
