Fly to Paris, and transfer across the city to St Denis. Board A-ROSA VIVA and settle in to your new surroundings before she gets underway this evening and your festive river cruise begins.
After a morning on the water, your ship arrives in Rouen. Step ashore and soak up the festive atmosphere of the beautiful Upper Normandy capital - perhaps with the help of a glass or two of calvados in a local bar. Explore the Christmas market in the square before city cathedral, visit the Place du Vieux-Marche where Joan of Arc was burnt to death, and see the ornate one-handed clock-face of the Gros Horloge before A-ROSA VIVA sets sail shortly before midnight.
In the late morning you'll arrive at Mantes-la-Jolie. Now absorbed by the suburbs of Paris, this pretty town and its scenic stretch of the Seine attracted painters like Monet, Manet and Renoir during the 19th Century, and you'll have time to visit the imposing church of Notre-Dame de Mantes, explore or relax in a local cafe or bar before the ship leaves in the late evening.
You'll wake this morning to find yourself back in St Denis, ready for the highlight of your cruise - a full day in Paris. After an included city tour, which will bring the sights to life, you'll have the day to explore, shop and relax.
The French capital is a city of romance, sights and hidden secrets. From the art of the Louvre to the history of Versailles, and from the shopping of the Galeries Lafayette to the sophistication of the Cafe de Flore, 'la vie Parisienne' gives every aspect of the city a unique and elegant air. The fascinating, cafe-lined streets of the Latin Quarter are the perfect place to enjoy a meal or relax with a drink as you watch the world go by.
Say farewell to your new friends as you disembark, join your included coach transfer and head back to the airport to check in for your flight home at the end of a memorable Christmastime river cruise.Back to top
Each of A-ROSA's elegant river cruise vessels has been built specifically for the river upon which it sails, offering spacious, contemporary public areas, light, bright cabins and a casual-yet-stylish cruising experience.
Relax on a comfy sun lounger, admiring views of crumbling castles, vineyard-clad hills and enchanting riverside towns and villages - perhaps with a drink from the rooftop bar - or enjoy a game of shuffleboard or giant chess with friends. Each river cruiser also has either a whirlpool or plunge pool, perfect for keeping cool on those warmer days. On fine days you'll find A-ROSA chefs on the top-deck, masterfully barbecuing, so you can enjoy a sumptuous lunch-with-a-view. As the sun sets, the top-deck is the perfect place to take in the day's end.Back to top
If you have notified us of any special requirements, please check that they have been noted and acknowledged. This is especially important with any dietary needs you may have.
Optional shore excursions
Optional excursions are available on all cruises. If the number of bookings needed to operate any excursion is not reached, the excursion may be cancelled.
Tipping is not compulsory, but from experience we know that many passengers like to leave gratuities for the crew. At the end of the cruise you will find a tip box for the entire crew at the reception and the suggested amount is five Euros per guest per day. Of course, you are free to tip individual crew members at any time, should you wish.
Disabled guests and guests in need of assistance
All ships have stairs, are not equipped with lifts, and may not be suitable for passengers with restricted mobility.
The dress code on board and ashore is comfortable and casual; we recommend that you bring sturdy footwear for excursions. For the restaurant we recommend smart casual dress. Please remember to bring warmer clothes for evenings out on deck.
Wi-Fi is provided free of charge in accordance with A-ROSA's conditions of use. You can request a login and password from reception. Internet reception is limited and will vary from location to location.
Where possible, we recommend non-rigid suitcases as these are easier to store within your cabin.
A heated pool can be found on the sun deck of the following ships: A-ROSA DONNA, FLORA, SILVA and STELLA.
A heated Whirlpool can be found on the following ships: A-ROSA AQUA, and VIVA.
In your cabin you will find a safe installed in the wardrobe, a hairdryer, bathrobes and slippers, insect screens and pool towels. The power supply in your cabin is 220 V/50 Hz. All sockets are European two-pin, meaning you will need to bring an adapter.
All A-ROSA vessels are air-conditioned throughout, with individual climate control in each cabin.
The water on board is potable and bottled water is provided in your cabin.
On rare occasions, the Captain may need to alter the Cruise Itinerary. If this happens, the Cruise Manager will keep passengers informed.
