Itinerary

Day One

Depart from your local area this morning for our Channel crossing to France, arriving at your hotel during the early evening.

Day Two

This morning discover Rouen, the lovingly restored capital in Upper Normandy, famed for its connections with French heroine Joan of Arc. There'll be time to explore at leisure. Stroll along narrow bustling streets, past half-timbered houses or perhaps climb the Belfry of the Gros Horloge, the huge astronomical clock dating back to the 16th Century, and enjoy wonderful city views.

You'll also visit the exquisite fishing port of Honfleur, beautifully set at the mouth of the River Seine. Saunter down to the old dock, surrounded by quaint gabled houses, visit the wooden church of Saint Catherine with its intricate detail, or stroll to the 17th-century chapel on the hill that has been welcoming pilgrims for centuries.

Day Three

Today we journey to one of France's most beautiful and iconic sites - UNESCO listed Mont Saint-Michel. Connected to the mainland by a narrow causeway, and at times cut off by high tide, this small inhabited island is dominated by its magnificent 11th-century Benedictine abbey, which attracts millions of visitors each year - you'll understand why when you reach the top of the winding hill lined with half-timbered houses and discover the spectacular views across the bay.

Day Four

Relax in the hotel at leisure today, or join our 'A Taste of Normandy' optional excursion. Visit the historic 100-year-old E.Graindorge cheese dairy, where you can enjoy a taste of their produce, as well as the ageing cellar of the prestigious Chateau du Breuil Calvados distillery, including a guided tour and Calvados tasting.

Day Five

Bid 'au revoir' this morning as we begin our journey home, with a Channel crossing during the mid-afternoon, arriving back in the local area during mid-to-late evening.

Triple rooms

The majority of these consist of a double bed and an extra bed that is often only suitable for children. If this is a concern, you may wish to consider booking more than one room for your group.

If you have notified us of any special requirements, please check that they have been noted and acknowledged. This is especially important with any dietary needs you may have.
