Leaving the local area this morning we'll travel to Esholt, the original 'Emmerdale village' used in the TV series between 1976 and 1998 until its popularity attracted so much interest that filming here became impossible. We'll stop at the famous 'Woolpack' pub where there'll be a chance to go inside and enjoy a drink (payable locally) before we continue to the hotel.
After breakfast we'll head into central Leeds for our visit to the Emmerdale Studio Experience. Only recently opened to the public, the Experience offers a fascinating insight into one of Britain's most iconic TV shows.
See the interior sets for Bernice's Salon and The Dingles' living room, and discover what it's like to act out a scene in Smithy Cottage as your Emmerdale Studio Experience guide talks you through past storylines and unique displays of props and memorabilia. Interactive elements will show you some of the special effects used to create iconic scenes such as the helicopter crash that devastated Pete and Debbie's wedding, and Cameron Murray's death during the flooding of the Woolpack cellar.
After time for lunch (payable locally) we'll re-board the coach and head to Emmerdale The Tour, the show's current outdoor filming location, a purpose-built set tucked away in the midst of country lanes on the Harewood Estate. See where, and hear how, some of the most iconic and memorable moments from the show were filmed, peek inside the Vet's Surgery, Smithy Cottage and the Dingles' Garage, and walk through the Parish Church on a 90-minute fully guided walking tour with an Emmerdale expert.
You'll have time for photo opportunities before we leave the set to begin the journey home, arriving back at your pick-up point in the mid-to-late evening.
