Make merry and enjoy the Christmas cheer on offer in one of the UK's most festive cities. Yorkshire offers a hearty welcome at any time of the year, and in York you can soak up the city’s medieval charm and scents of spiced mulled wine as the heart of the city is transformed into the fairytale St Nicholas Fair. The famous Christmas Market alpine chalets line Parliament Street and St Sampson’s Square creating a joyous wonderland, with an array of local traders and artisan products. York's restaurants, shops and attractions are beautifully decorated and provide a wonderful experience and atmosphere.
This festive 3-day weekend break is based on the outskirts of York with dinner included, and gives you plenty of free time to discover the city for yourself and make the most of the ultimate Christmas spirit! On the way home, we also include some free time to explore Nottingham and its Winter Wonderland event with Christmas Market stalls, rides and attractions and lots of food and drink to enjoy, so this weekend break really does promise to have something for everyone and is a great way to step into the Christmas period.

Itinerary
Day 1
Join your comfortable coach at your convenient pick up point this morning, and head north to Yorkshire with comfort stops on the way to check in at your hotel on the outskirts of York. On arrival you will have time to settle in before your first included evening meal.
Day 2
With hearty Yorkshire breakfasts and evening meals, your comfortable hotel base will give you a real taste of Yorkshire. You will have time to explore the magic of York's Christmas Fair plus the other attractions that the city has to offer. An ancient and compact walled city, York can be explored easily on foot. Perhaps visit the Jorvik Viking Centre, one of York’s most popular attractions delving into the past and the sights and sounds of Viking York, whilst the magnificent Minster is well worth a visit along with the state-of-the-art Undercroft Museum, located in chambers underneath the cathedral. There’s also the National Railway Museum, showcasing over 300 years of railway history. Harry Potter fans can find many links in York including The Shop That Must Not Be Named in The Shambles, which itself is the inspiration for the magical Diagon Alley and is one of the best-preserved medieval streets in the world. The hotel is just a 10 minute car ride or 30 mins walk inot York for those who like to stroll and do their own thing.
We return to your hotel for your evening meal and then perhaps relax in the hotel bar with a drink.
Day 3
Enjoy a final tasty breakfast this morning, we leave York and begin our journey home via a stop in Nottingham where the annual Winter Wonderland event will be taking place. You will find a traditional German-style Christmas Market with all the wonderful Christmas food, mulled wine, handmade gifts and decorations that you would expect to see.
Early afternoon rejoin your coach with time to relax as you head home with great memories of your weekend and maybe a gift or two. We arrive back mid to late evening.

You’ll also have free time to shop in the city centre, or you may choose to visit the hilltop Castle Museum and Art Gallery.
