Take a stroll along the esplanade and admire the beauty of the scenery that surrounds you. You'll stay right on the seafront in the heart of Weymouth at the charming Royal Hotel, with panoramic views out over the sea and towards the cliffs that still protect the Bay, located just a short way from Weymouth's beautiful sandy beach, town centre and harbour. The hotel organises great evening entertainment on some nights for you to enjoy, unless you'd prefer to head off into Weymouth to enjoy the nightlife.You'll have plenty of time to explore Weymouth but we've also include fascinating excursions to some of Dorset's other highlights. Discover Dorchester (famous for housing the best-preserved Roman ruins in the country) and the dramatic Jurassic Coast as we take you on to West Bay, home to the hit TV series, Broadchurch. We also visit popular Bournemouth to experience the town's seaside charm and scenic beauty.

Itinerary
Day 1
Join your coach this morning at your convenient local pick-up point, and head to the fantastic Dorset resort of Weymouth, and your centrally located hotel. On arrival at the comfortable Royal Hotel you will find yourself in the heart of this popular resort with its beautiful golden beaches and pretty harbour. Enjoy time to settle in and get yourself orientated. Take time to enjoy a stroll along the lovely seafront with its Georgian buildings that became world famous as the backdrop to the sailing events of the 2012 Olympic Games. Perhaps enjoy a drink in the bar before your first included evening meal.
Days 2 to 4
Your centrally located hotel means you are close to all the great things Weymouth has to offer. So make sure you explore and enjoy every moment. Why not enjoy fish and chips as you listen to the gentle waters lap against the golden beach. Visit the harbour and sit back and relax in one of the lovely bars or bistros and watch the luxury yachts, fishing trawlers and even the RNLI Lifeboat as they sail by. Or step out to the bustling town centre with great independent traders selling everything from traditional seaside rock to beachwear, books and fabulous foodie treats from cheese and wine to pasties and pies!
You can spend all of your time in Weymouth or join us on our INCLUDED excursions. We visit the historic market town of Dorchester in the heart of stunning Thomas Hardy country and the lovely West Bay, gateway to Dorset's ancient Jurassic Coast and also very familiar to TV drama Broadchurch fans. We also have a full day in beautiful Bournemouth.
As well as filling breakfasts and delicious dinners your hotel offers great entertainment on some evenings during your stay too, so you can relax and be entertained after fantastic days exploring.
Day 5
After a final hearty breakfast it is time to say farewell to Weymouth and the lovely county of Dorset today. Board your comfortable coach for a relaxing journey home after your midweek break away.
Dorchester & West Bay

You will find a town with one foot in the past and another firmly in the future, with some of this country's best preserved Roman ruins moments away from a thriving high street. Dorchester is very fortunate in having no less than 8 museums, leafy riverside walks near the centre, dialect trails through the town's shops and cafes and the largest Iron Age hillfort in Europe. The Dorset Museum will give you an insight into the county's Jurassic past through to the life and work of Dorset's famous novelist and poet Thomas Hardy. For more specialist interests you could visit the many themed museums from Teddies to Terracotta Warriors and Tutankhamun, all in this bustling town where there are plenty of individual shops and cafes to browse and watch the world go by for a more sedate visit.Your journey through Dorset continues to the beautiful Jurassic coast with West Bay. Only a few miles away the dramatic cliffs are breathtaking at the village of West Bay, known to millions of TV viewers the world over as Broadchurch. You are bound to find loads of photo opportunities on this scenic trip!
Bournemouth
Bournemouth is the largest resort in Dorset and along with seven miles of sandy beaches also has beautiful parks and gardens. You’re sure to find plenty of things to do while exploring this coastal town, with lots of attractions, activities, entertainment and adventure to keep all ages entertained. With great shopping and dining experiences there really is something for all ages and budgets.
Beneath the magnificent cliffs you’ll find Bournemouth’s award winning beaches and world-class seafront. From family attractions and a historic house museum to picturesque walks and outdoor activities – as well as restaurants and bars – Bournemouth’s coastline is the jewel in its crown. Beach huts are a very British tradition that actually originated in Bournemouth in 1908 - you can even rent the world’s oldest beach hut! The beach huts and funky beach pods are available for hire and are ideal for taking in the stunning views and watching the world go by.
