During the winter months, you'll also have the rare opportunity to explore the richly decorated Semi-State Rooms. These were George IV's private apartments and are still used by the Royal Family for official entertaining today. The opulent interiors, adorned with priceless art and furnishings, take on an extra layer of grandeur during the Christmas period. Please note: Coaches can't set down or pick up passengers at the entrance to Windsor Castle. The coach drop off point is approximately a ten minute walk from Windsor Castle. The Castle is at the top of a steep hill and the visitor route covers reasonably long distances. We recommend you wear comfortable shoes.
