Itinerary

Day 1

Join your coach early this morning as we set off on our Scottish adventure. Travelling north through ever-changing landscapes, we make our way to your comfortable overnight hotel. Settle in and enjoy dinner as anticipation builds for the days ahead.

Days 2 to 6

Day 2 – Oban & the Road to Fort William
After breakfast, we continue our journey north to Oban, affectionately known as the 'Gateway to the Isles'. This bustling harbour town is yours to explore – stroll around the picturesque harbour, perhaps visit the famous Oban Distillery for a wee dram, indulge at the Oban Chocolate Shop, or take the steep walk up to McCaig's Folly and be rewarded with splendid views of the coast and the outlying islands.

Later, we travel along the beautiful Argyll Coastal Route, where mountains meet the sea in dramatic fashion, before arriving at Fort William – your base for the next four nights. Dinner included.

Day 3 – The Jacobite Steam Railway & Mallaig
Today is truly special. Board the iconic Jacobite Steam Railway for a nostalgic journey along the world-famous West Highland Line. Admire spectacular scenery of mountains, lochs, and coastline as the vintage steam train carries you through the Highlands. The highlight? Crossing the stunning Glenfinnan Viaduct – made famous by a certain boy wizard – with magnificent views of the Glenfinnan Monument and Loch Shiel stretching below.

Arrive in pretty Mallaig, a charming fishing village where you'll have free time to explore the harbour, grab some fresh seafood, or simply soak up the coastal atmosphere. Then board the train once more for your return journey aboard the Jacobite Steam Railway to Fort William. Dinner included.

Day 4 – Free Day in Fort William
Today is yours to enjoy Fort William at your own pace. You are located on the centre of Fort William, so it's easy to come and go as you please. There's plenty to discover:
- Wander the High Street with its mix of outdoor shops, Highland crafts, and cosy cafés
- Visit the West Highland Museum to delve into local history and Jacobite heritage
- Take the Nevis Range Mountain Gondola for glorious views of Ben Nevis and beyond
- Stroll along the shores of Loch Linnhe and watch the boats come and go
- Simply relax and soak up the Highland atmosphere

Whatever you choose, Fort William offers the perfect blend of Highland charm and stunning scenery. Dinner included this evening.

Day 5 – Loch Ness, Glenfinnan & the Commando Memorial
After breakfast, our included excursion takes us first to the Commando Memorial – a poignant monument dedicated to the men of the original British Commando Forces. Standing proud against a backdrop of spectacular mountain scenery, it's a moving tribute and a photographer's dream.  We continue to Fort Augustus, nestled at the southern tip of mighty Loch Ness. Here we take to the waters for a relaxing and informative cruise – keep your eyes peeled for Nessie! Learn about the loch's fascinating geology, history, and of course, its legendary monster.

Later, we travel along part of the 'Road to the Isles', following the route of the West Highland Line to the Glenfinnan Visitor Centre. Enjoy stunning views of the famous viaduct from below, explore the fascinating exhibitions, and discover the story of Bonnie Prince Charlie and the Jacobite Rising. The surrounding scenery offers superb photo opportunities at every turn. Dinner included.

Day 6 – Journey South
After breakfast, we bid farewell to the Highlands and begin our journey south to our comfortable overnight hotel. Reflect on the memories made as the Scottish scenery unfolds one last time. Dinner included.

Day 7

After breakfast, we complete our journey home, arriving back with hearts full of Scottish magic and cameras full of unforgettable moments.

Jacobite Steam Railway

The Jacobite Steam Railway is one of Scotland’s most iconic and unforgettable travel experiences, offering a nostalgic journey through some of the country’s most breathtaking scenery. Loch Ness Cruise

Inside, informative exhibitions tell the story of the Jacobite Rising of 1745 and the role Glenfinnan played in Bonnie Prince Charlie’s campaign. Commando Memorial

The Commando Memorial is one of the most moving and iconic landmarks in the Scottish Highlands. Located near Spean Bridge, just a short distance from Fort William, this striking monument is dedicated to the men of the original British Commando Forces who trained in the surrounding Highlands during the Second World War.
