Waterford & The Sunny South East
2018 - Treacy’s Hotel Waterford - 4 Days (AUD0194)
Along the coast of Ireland’s Ancient East, County Waterford showcases miles of stunning coastline, Ireland’s oldest city, a UNESCO Global Geopark and monastic marvels by the ocean. In 1171, King Henry II came sailing up the River Suir seeking out the Norman lord Strongbow in Waterford. While ploughing through the river, Henry passed the rugged Hook Peninsula to his right, and the small village of Crook to his left, nestled against the coast. As he went between the two, the king vowed to reach Waterford “by hook or by crook”.
Waterford City is a hotbed of history and heritage. Although Waterford is one of Ireland’s oldest cities, it boasts ultra-modern shopping centres, pedestrianised walkways, lively bars and gourmet restaurants. It is also home to the world-famous Waterford Crystal and few visitors leave without purchasing at least one of the exquisite pieces.
PLEASE NOTE: Price is per person and based on two people sharing a twin/double room. Single room supplements and upgrades are not included.
