Torquay Tribute Weekend At The Riviera

Itinerary

Day 1

Join your coach this morning, and head towards the lovely English Riviera and your resort of Torquay. We make a stop along the way in the charming historic market town of Tiverton. Perhaps visit the Pannier Market with fabulous handmade crafts and a host of fantastic trade stands full of interesting goods.

On arrival at the Riviera Hotel there is time to settle in. Enjoy a drink in the bar to meet friends and fellow travellers, and make sure you have worked up an appetite for evening meal, followed by fantastic entertainment that your central hotel is so famous for.

Day 2 & 3

Enjoy hearty traditional English breakfast each day. You can spend all of your time in and around Torquay to make the most of your fantastic seaside location. Alternatively join us on our great INCLUDED excursions to explore the very best of the Devon coast to Sidmouth & Exmouth, as well as a visit to the traditional Devon fishing village of Brixham perched on the bottom edge of Torbay.

Back in Torquay, take time to explore, whether it's a stroll along the promenade or harbour, enjoy some traditional fish & chips if you have room, or track down the mysterious connections with the enigmatic Agatha Christie! Return to your hotel in time for your evening meal and great entertainment including an amazing tribute night when you can sing along with the stars to your heart's content!

Day 4

After a final tasty breakfast, we will say farewell to the English Riviera today. Board your comfortable coach and after stopping for a coffee/lunch break, relax and continue homewards with your great memories from your weekend away.

Tiverton

INCLUDED Visitor DestinationTiverton is a busy market town situated in the middle of scenic Devon. The name was originally Twyfyrde, meaning town of two fords, and Tiverton stands on two rivers - the Lowman and the Exe. The town was once the industrial centre of Devon’s fabric trade and the rivers provided sources of power for the woollen industry. Tiverton's bustling town centre is a shopper's paradise, offering a mix of independent boutiques, traditional markets, and well-known brands. Explore the charming streets lined with unique shops, antiques stores, and craft emporiums. Indulge in delicious local cuisine at one of the town's cosy pubs or eateries, where you can savour traditional Devonshire cream teas, freshly caught seafood, and mouthwatering farm-to-table dishes. Tiverton Pannier Market offers a wide selection of high quality produce, all sourced locally. With the Museum of Mid Devon Life, Tiverton Craft Centre and many fine merchant's buildings, there is plenty to see and do in this historic town.

Torquay

With its iconic palm trees, busy harbour, beautiful marina, sandy beach and wonderful array of cafes, bars & restaurants, there is something new to enjoy and discover during each visit. Grab a bucket and spade for a day at the beach, wander into town to enjoy an array of brand and independent shops or just take a stroll and marvel at the unique beauty that Torquay's gardens, seafront and walks provide. Don't forget, if you fancy a bit more sightseeing, Torquay's marina offers a wide selection of boat trips, allowing you the opportunity to discover the English Riviera Coastline by sea. The covered Fleet Walk and Union Square in Torquay offer an eclectic mix of high street and independent stores, whatever the weather. A Street & Craft Market is also held on Union Street every Thursday and Saturday all year round with a variety of stalls from local businesses. Various bus routes offer further exploration with places such as Paignton and Babbacombe within easy reach.

Brixham

INCLUDED Visitor DestinationThe attractive fishing harbour of Brixham is fringed with a tumble of colourful fisher cottages on the surrounding hillsides. Explore the winding streets, where you can browse the unique gift and craft shops, enjoy some locally caught seafood or just relax and take in the views at the harbour cafes. And don’t forget to visit the famous replica of Sir Francis Drake’s iconic ship, The Golden Hind, which has docked in Brixham for over 50 years.

Sidmouth

Set in the middle of spectacular countryside, Sidmouth is home to beautiful beaches, stylish eating places and great shopping, with everything from unusual gifts, designer clothing and lifestyle goods available. Situated on the Jurassic Coast, its coastline is dominated by the vivid red sandstone cliffs which date back to the Triassic period. It is a great town for walking, be it a gentle stroll along the seafront or a more energetic climb up the stunning rocks. Make sure you also take some time to explore the town centre, rich in royal and architectural history, as well as discovering a great range of shops, cafes and restaurants.

Exmouth

INCLUDED Visitor DestinationExmouth is one of the oldest and most picturesque seaside towns in Devon, and the gateway to the Jurassic Coast, along with two miles of lovely sandy beach. The town is home to an indoor market and range of shops to be browsed and explored amongst the splendid Regency architecture. Fresh local produce is in abundance, from fresh fish and chips, to celebrity chefs and fine dining Exmouth has an eclectic mix of restaurants on offer in the town and along the seafront. To discover a bit more about the history of the town follow the Blue Plaque heritage trail and explore the heritage of the area.

Riviera Hotel Torquay

The Riviera Hotel in the heart of Torquay is the perfect place to enjoy good food, comfortable bedrooms, cabaret entertainment, superb indoor pool* and friendly customer service. Its great location is just a few minutes’ walk from Torquay’s award winning beaches, sparkling blue sea and all that the resort has to offer. The accommodation comprises 140 well-appointed bedrooms with tea & coffee making facilities and all Leisuretime guests will be accommodated in upgraded bedrooms** when staying for 2 nights or more on selected dates! Enjoy free entertainment to suit all ages on most evenings, including bingo, quizzes, professional cabarets and dancing in the fabulous Show Bar. The Sports Bar boasts numerous large screen TVs showing different sports events all day. WiFi is available in public areas. Meals are self-service buffet style and assistance is available if required.

There are no ground floor bedrooms however there is a lift, although some rooms still have steps to access. Unfortunately, the nature and age of the building means that the hotel cannot easily accommodate guests in wheelchairs, using mobility scooters or with limited mobility so please contact us if you have any concerns in this respect prior to booking.

Single rooms have a £5 per night supplement and are usually smaller rooms with single beds and are available on request. Single travellers paying a larger supplement will be in a double room for sole occupancy.
