This holiday is also timed to coincide with the Buckfast Abbey Summer Fair, a real treat for those who love a good summer fair! With lots of salls selling a wide range of local produce alongside entertainment and events, this is a lovely added extra for you to enjoy.

Nestled on the stunning English Riviera, Torquay offers a delightful blend of natural beauty, charming coastal scenery, and a wealth of exciting activities and is the perfect seaside destination for a coach holiday! As you embark on your coach journey, get ready to immerse yourself in a world of relaxation, exploration and fun. The iconic palm trees could fool you into thinking you were in the Mediterranean. The coast of Torquay is scattered with beautiful piers and russet-red cliffs. Enjoy leisurely walks along the promenade and take in the relaxed atmosphere. Itinerary

Day 1

Join your comfortable coach this morning at your convenient local pick-up point and head south west towards the glamourous English Riviera! On arrival in your palm tree lined resort of Torquay there will be plenty of time to settle in and enjoy a seaside stroll before dinner. Enjoy a drink in the bar to meet friends and fellow travellers, and make sure you have worked up an appetite to enjoy your evening meal, followed by fantastic entertainment that your central hotel is so famous for.

Days 2 - 4

There will be plenty of time to make the most of your fantastic seaside location, but make sure you don't miss your great INCLUDED excursions to Exmouth, Sidmouth and Plymouth. Back in Torquay, take time to explore, whether it's a stroll along the palm lined promenade, some traditional fish & chips if you have room, or track down the mysterious connections with the enigmatic Agatha Christie! After dinner, there will once again be wonderful evening entertainment to enjoy every evening.

Day 5

Having experienced the very best of Devon scenery, food, hospitality and entertainment, it is time to say farewell to the English Riviera today. Relax on board in comfort, as your coach heads homewards with lovely memories of new experiences, friends and beautiful places.

Plymouth

If you’re a fan of all things nautical, then be sure to make a trip to Plymouth Hoe. Not only is it the backdrop for Sir Francis Drake’s legendary game of bowls, but its also one of the most beautiful natural harbours in the world. You can get incredible views of Plymouth from Smeaton’s Tower. And don’t forget to pay a visit to the Barbican, a bustling array of specialist shops, restaurants, cafes and world-class attractions in Devon, all set against the backdrop of Plymouth's picturesque harbour. In addition, there’s Sutton Harbour, where you can visit the world-famous Plymouth Gin Distillery, with their delicious gin making the perfect gift!

Sidmouth

Set in the middle of spectacular countryside, Sidmouth is home to beautiful beaches, stylish eating places and great shopping, with everything from unusual gifts, designer clothing and lifestyle goods available. Situated on the Jurassic Coast, its coastline is dominated by the vivid red sandstone cliffs which date back to the Triassic period. It is a great town for walking, be it a gentle stroll along the seafront or a more energetic climb up the stunning rocks. Make sure you also take some time to explore the town centre, rich in royal and architectural history, as well as discovering a great range of shops, cafes and restaurants.

Exmouth

The town is home to an indoor market and range of shops to be browsed and explored amongst the splendid Regency architecture. Fresh local produce is in abundance, from fresh fish and chips, to celebrity chefs and fine dining Exmouth has an eclectic mix of restaurants on offer in the town and along the seafront. To discover a bit more about the history of the town follow the Blue Plaque heritage trail and explore the heritage of the area.

Torquay

Don't forget, if you fancy a bit more sightseeing, Torquay's marina offers a wide selection of boat trips, allowing you the opportunity to discover the English Riviera Coastline by sea. The covered Fleet Walk and Union Square in Torquay offer an eclectic mix of high street and independent stores, whatever the weather. A Street & Craft Market is also held on Union Street every Thursday and Saturday all year round with a variety of stalls from local businesses. Various bus routes offer further exploration with places such as Paignton and Babbacombe within easy reach.

Buckfast Abbey & Summer Fair

INCLUDED Visitor DestinationOn this holiday we will take you to the delightful Summer Fair at Buckfast Abbey, where you will be able to enjoy entertainment, local food and drink and a wide range of stalls selling local produce.

Nestled in the shadow of Dartmoor, in a beautiful wooded valley beside the river Dart, Buckfast Abbey offers visitors a tranquil refuge from the hectic pace of everyday life. The Abbey is a working monastery where a community of Benedictine monks live self-sufficiently, welcoming visitors from all around the world. At the heart of the site is the Abbey Church, a spiritual haven for the many thousands of visitors who come each year. There is an overwhelming sense of peace as soon as you enter the grounds with the church surrounded by gardens which in the summer come alive with colour. Within the Abbey precinct, visitors can browse in the Bookshop or visit the Monastic Shop which has an extraordinary array of products made by nuns and monks across Europe. There is also a gift shop and information point by the Westgate entrance. In the Grange Restaurant, you can relax and enjoy tea and homemade cakes or choose from a range of hot meals and light snacks which are changed daily. Riviera Hotel Torquay

The Riviera Hotel in the heart of Torquay is the perfect place to enjoy good food, comfortable bedrooms, cabaret entertainment, superb indoor pool* and friendly customer service. Its great location is just a few minutes’ walk from Torquay’s award winning beaches, sparkling blue sea and all that the resort has to offer. The accommodation comprises 140 well-appointed bedrooms with tea & coffee making facilities and all Leisuretime guests will be accommodated in upgraded bedrooms** when staying for 2 nights or more on selected dates! Enjoy free entertainment to suit all ages on most evenings, including bingo, quizzes, professional cabarets and dancing in the fabulous Show Bar. The Sports Bar boasts numerous large screen TVs showing different sports events all day. WiFi is available in public areas. Meals are self-service buffet style and assistance is available if required.

There are no ground floor bedrooms however there is a lift, although some rooms still have steps to access. Unfortunately, the nature and age of the building means that the hotel cannot easily accommodate guests in wheelchairs, using mobility scooters or with limited mobility so please contact us if you have any concerns in this respect prior to booking.

Single rooms have a £5 per night supplement and are usually smaller rooms with single beds and are available on request. Single travellers paying a larger supplement will be in a double room for sole occupancy.
