Itinerary

Day 1

Join your comfortable coach this morning at your convenient local pick-up point and head south west towards the glamourous English Riviera! We make a stop en-route in the ancient cathedral city of Exeter, a great destination for shoppers, historians and sightseers alike! On arrival in your palm tree lined resort of Torquay there will be plenty of time to settle in and perhaps have a seaside stroll before dinner. Enjoy a drink in the bar to meet friends and fellow travellers, and make sure you have worked up an appetite for your evening meal, followed by fantastic entertainment that your central hotel is so famous for.

Day 2 & 3

Enjoy free time to explore your lovely seaside resort, whether it's a stroll along the palm lined promenade, some traditional fish & chips if you have room, or track down the mysterious connections with the enigmatic Agatha Christie! We include a morning visit to picturesque Brixham where life centres on the harbour and the bustle of one of Britain's busiest fishing ports. You can wander around the many harbourside shops, watch the fishermen unloading their daily catch, or take a peek at the work of the artists who gather at Artist's Corner.

Back at the hotel, for those who wish to do so, enjoy the atmosphere as the 2024 Guinness Six Nations plays out on the big screens in the hotel's Sports Bar.

After dinner, there will be entertainment to enjoy each evening.

Day 4

Having experienced the very best of Devon scenery, food, hospitality and entertainment, it is time to say farewell to the English Riviera today. Relax on board your comfortable coach, as you head homewards with lovely memories of new experiences, friends and beautiful places.

Exeter

If you’re in need of a spot of retail therapy Exeter’s Princesshay offers a contemporary mixture of shopping, leisure and restaurants all within walking distance of beautiful Exeter Cathedral. It has an eclectic mix of global High Street brands, mixed in with local one of a kind boutiques – a shopper’s paradise.

You could also explore the Historic Quayside, just a ten-minute walk from the cathedral, and take a stroll along the canal past quaint antique shops, art exhibitions, local bars and lively waterside restaurants.

Brixham

Explore the winding streets, where you can browse the unique gift and craft shops, enjoy some locally caught seafood or just relax and take in the views at the harbour cafes. And don’t forget to visit the famous replica of Sir Francis Drake’s iconic ship, The Golden Hind, which has docked in Brixham for over 50 years.

Grab a bucket and spade for a day at the beach, wander into town to enjoy an array of brand and independent shops or just take a stroll and marvel at the unique beauty that Torquay's gardens, seafront and walks provide. Don't forget, if you fancy a bit more sightseeing, Torquay's marina offers a wide selection of boat trips, allowing you the opportunity to discover the English Riviera Coastline by sea. Various bus routes offer further exploration with places such as Paignton and Babbacombe within easy reach.

Riviera Hotel Torquay

The Riviera Hotel in the heart of Torquay is the perfect place to enjoy good food, comfortable bedrooms, cabaret entertainment, superb indoor pool* and friendly customer service. Its great location is just a few minutes’ walk from Torquay’s award winning beaches, sparkling blue sea and all that the resort has to offer. The accommodation comprises 140 well-appointed bedrooms with tea & coffee making facilities and all Leisuretime guests will be accommodated in upgraded bedrooms** when staying for 2 nights or more on selected dates! Enjoy free entertainment to suit all ages on most evenings, including bingo, quizzes, professional cabarets and dancing in the fabulous Show Bar. The Sports Bar boasts numerous large screen TVs showing different sports events all day. WiFi is available in public areas. Meals are self-service buffet style and assistance is available if required.

There are no ground floor bedrooms however there is a lift, although some rooms still have steps to access. Unfortunately, the nature and age of the building means that the hotel cannot easily accommodate guests in wheelchairs, using mobility scooters or with limited mobility so please contact us if you have any concerns in this respect prior to booking.

Single travellers paying a supplement will be in a double room for sole occupancy. Single rooms without a supplement are usually smaller rooms with single beds and are available on request.
