Nestled on the stunning English Riviera, Torquay offers a delightful blend of natural beauty, charming coastal scenery, and a wealth of exciting activities and is the perfect seaside destination for an Easter coach holiday!

The hotel is well located in the heart of Torquay, which makes this lovely resort really easy to explore on foot. The iconic palm trees could fool you into thinking you were in the Mediterranean. The coast of Torquay is scattered with beautiful piers and russet-red cliffs. Enjoy a stroll along the promenade and take in the relaxed atmosphere. Make time to walk up the steps of Royal Terrace Gardens. Remember to take in the amazing sea views across the bay at night with the lights reflecting onto the sea. You'll have ample time to explore and relax and maybe enjoy an ice cream on the beach.

Itinerary

Day 1

Join your coach this morning, and head towards the lovely English Riviera and your resort of Torquay. On arrival at the Riviera Hotel there is time to settle in. Enjoy a drink in the bar to meet friends and fellow travellers, and make sure you have worked up an appetite for evening meal, followed by fantastic entertainment that your central hotel is so famous for.

Day 2 & 3

Enjoy hearty traditional English breakfast each day. You can spend all of your time in and around Torquay to make the most of your fantastic seaside location. Alternatively join us on our great INCLUDED excursions.

Back in Torquay, take time to explore, whether it's a stroll along the promenade or harbour, enjoy some traditional fish & chips if you have room, or track down the mysterious connections with the enigmatic Agatha Christie! Return to your hotel in time for your evening meal and great entertainment.

Day 4

After a final tasty breakfast it is time to say farewell to Torquay and The English Riviera today and head for the great city of Exeter for some free time and maybe a browse through the shops. Rejoin your coach in the afternoon and continue homewards full of great memories from your weekend away.

Torquay

With its iconic palm trees, busy harbour, beautiful marina, sandy beach and wonderful array of cafes, bars & restaurants, there is something new to enjoy and discover during each visit. Grab a bucket and spade for a day at the beach, wander into town to enjoy an array of brand and independent shops or just take a stroll and marvel at the unique beauty that Torquay's gardens, seafront and walks provide. Don't forget, if you fancy a bit more sightseeing, Torquay's marina offers a wide selection of boat trips, allowing you the opportunity to discover the English Riviera Coastline by sea. The covered Fleet Walk and Union Square in Torquay offer an eclectic mix of high street and independent stores, whatever the weather. A Street & Craft Market is also held on Union Street every Thursday and Saturday all year round with a variety of stalls from local businesses. Various bus routes offer further exploration with places such as Paignton and Babbacombe within easy reach.

Exmouth

INCLUDED Visitor DestinationExmouth is one of the oldest and most picturesque seaside towns in Devon, and the gateway to the Jurassic Coast, along with two miles of lovely sandy beach. The town is home to an indoor market and range of shops to be browsed and explored amongst the splendid Regency architecture. Fresh local produce is in abundance, from fresh fish and chips, to celebrity chefs and fine dining Exmouth has an eclectic mix of restaurants on offer in the town and along the seafront. To discover a bit more about the history of the town follow the Blue Plaque heritage trail and explore the heritage of the area.

Sidmouth

INCLUDED Visitor DestinationSidmouth is a beautiful coastal town with a Regency feel which is ideal for visitors of all ages. Set in the middle of spectacular countryside, Sidmouth is home to beautiful beaches, stylish eating places and great shopping, with everything from unusual gifts, designer clothing and lifestyle goods available. Situated on the Jurassic Coast, its coastline is dominated by the vivid red sandstone cliffs which date back to the Triassic period. It is a great town for walking, be it a gentle stroll along the seafront or a more energetic climb up the stunning rocks. Make sure you also take some time to explore the town centre, rich in royal and architectural history, as well as discovering a great range of shops, cafes and restaurants.

Totnes & Dartmouth

INCLUDED Visitor DestinationTotnes is a charming Devon town with a bustling main street and a regular market situated in the beautiful Dart Valley.  The town is surrounded by woodlands, grassy fields and riverside walks. It is built on a hill rising up from the lovely River Dart. The old warehouses on the wharf have been restored preserving the character making it an ideal spot to wander and explore the local traders and cafes.

You have to go a long way to find a town as pretty as Dartmouth. Overlooking one of the finest natural harbours in the UK, Dartmouth has a strong maritime heritage with the iconic Royal Naval College set on a hill overlooking the town. You will find a host of narrow lanes, stairways and corridors, and historical streets to explore. The town has fine restaurants, as well as arts, antiques and craft shops just about everywhere. The Greenway Ferry takes visitors across the river to the world famous home of Agatha Christie, who so loved this area. You are bound to fall in love with Dartmouth too!

Exeter

INCLUDED Visitor DestinationAs the county town of Devon, Exeter is a vibrant, modern city with a historical past pre-dating the Romans. If you’re in need of a spot of retail therapy Exeter’s Princesshay offers a contemporary mixture of shopping, leisure and restaurants all within walking distance of beautiful Exeter Cathedral. It has an eclectic mix of global High Street brands, mixed in with local one of a kind boutiques – a shopper’s paradise.

You could also explore the Historic Quayside, just a ten-minute walk from the cathedral, and take a stroll along the canal past quaint antique shops, art exhibitions, local bars and lively waterside restaurants. Back to top

Riviera Hotel Torquay

The Riviera Hotel in the heart of Torquay is the perfect place to enjoy good food, comfortable bedrooms, cabaret entertainment, superb indoor pool* and friendly customer service. Its great location is just a few minutes’ walk from Torquay’s award winning beaches, sparkling blue sea and all that the resort has to offer. The accommodation comprises 140 well-appointed bedrooms with tea & coffee making facilities and all Leisuretime guests will be accommodated in upgraded bedrooms** when staying for 2 nights or more on selected dates! Enjoy free entertainment to suit all ages on most evenings, including bingo, quizzes, professional cabarets and dancing in the fabulous Show Bar. The Sports Bar boasts numerous large screen TVs showing different sports events all day. WiFi is available in public areas. Meals are self-service buffet style and assistance is available if required.

There are no ground floor bedrooms however there is a lift, although some rooms still have steps to access. Unfortunately, the nature and age of the building means that the hotel cannot easily accommodate guests in wheelchairs, using mobility scooters or with limited mobility so please contact us if you have any concerns in this respect prior to booking.

Single rooms have a £5 per night supplement and are usually smaller rooms with single beds and are available on request. Single travellers paying a larger supplement will be in a double room for sole occupancy.
