Be inspired in splendid Stamford which was voted as Britain’s top place to live by readers of the Sunday Times. Visit elegant Royal Leamington Spa, a sophisticated town with fine architecture and colourful gardens. Explore historic Leicester, visit the home land of the pork pie, and we even include get back to nature, at one the country’s finest arboretums.
On your day at leisure, why not relax in the hotel and gardens, enjoy a walk in nearby Market Bosworth, or head to the site of the ‘Battle of Bosworth’. Here, in August of 1485, Richard III became the last English King to die in combat in the famous battle from the War of the Roses. Henry VII took the crown and founded the incredibly powerful Tudor Dynasty. Walk the fields and cast your mind back to olden days, or, for a small fee, explore the fabulous Battlefield Heritage Centre.

Bosworth Hall Hotel & Spa
Dating back to the 17th century, this beautiful Grade II Listed Mansion is set in 11 acres of landscaped gardens and located in the heart of the English countryside. Modern rooms offer all the comforts you would expect. The hotel provides a restaurant, bars and lounges all in a unique retreat. The Spindles Leisure Club is available for a small charge for the duration of the holiday, payable at the hotel. featuring a heated indoor pool, spa bath, sauna, steam room, treadmills, rowing machines, stepper and cross trainer, weights. Tennis courts and croquet lawn available at additional charge.
After joining the coach, we make our way to the hotel with stops en route with stops en route. We expect to arrive at our hotel late afternoon. Dinner and entertainment in the hotel.
Days 2 - 4
Traditional English breakfast followed by our included excursions. Dinner each evening.
After breakfast we make our way back to South Wales with a stop en route at Batsford Arboretum.
Excursion to the Conservation Town of Stamford & to Melton Mowbray: This morning we’ll head straight to the Conservation Town of Stamford. Magnificent Georgian architecture, niche shopping, beautiful riverside meadows, prestige local food and a vibrant Arts Centre combine to make Stamford a visitor must. Stamford is the most complete stone town in England; whole streets unchanged over the centuries and with 600 listed mellow limestone buildings. Admire the well preserved timber framed historic buildings and medieval churches, delight in a walk along the banks of the River Welland or follow the Town Trail that takes you through Stamford’s passageways and market squares We return via Melton Mowbray (don’t forget to sample one of the delicious Pork Pies!).
Royal Leamington Spa & fascinating Leicester
Our first stop today is the Regency town of Royal Leamington Spa where you’ll find tree-lined avenues, pleasant squares and the Royal Pump Rooms which house this elegant town’s museum and art gallery. We will then travel to Leicester - a vibrant city, rich in history and culture - where we have an opportunity to parade the ‘Lanes’ and arcades. Exciting attractions include the New Richard III museum, the National Space Museum with its fascinating Sir Patrick Moore Planetarium, New Walk Museum & Galleries and the Guildhall (one of the best preserved timber framed halls in the country).
Stratford-upon-Avon (on outbound journey)
Stratford upon Avon is a historic market town in Warwickshire situated on the banks of the River Avon and a popular tourist destination attracting over three million visitors a year. With its beautiful surroundings it’s not hard to see why it’s such a hit with coach trip visitors.
Batsford Arboretum (on homebound journey)
Welcome to Batsford Arboretum and Garden Centre, home to the country’s largest private collection of trees and shrubs. Batsford is an intimate and romantic place to visit, with interest all year round from the first snowdrops of spring, right through to the outstanding autumn colour in October and November.
