The Isle of Wight has long been referred to as the Garden Isle in recognition of its stunning landscape and quintessentially English countryside.

We'll whisk you away and over the water on the short crossing from the mainland to the charming Ocean View Hotel in its prime cliff top location overlooking pretty Sandown Bay. With fantastic facilities including a sprung dance floor, games room, indoor heated swimming pool and entertainment on at least one evening, you are also within easy reach of Shanklin town centre, old village and lovely seafront.

The Isle of Wight may be just five miles off the mainland, but it’s a different world. Nowhere in the country can match it for geographical variety in its 23 mile long and 13 mile wide, stretch of land. You will find quiet fishing harbours and quaint towns and villages, along with stretches of golden sand and unspoilt, award-winning beaches. More than half the Isle of Wight is designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and with spectacular scenery and a rich royal heritage, the island has plenty to offer all year round.

There is a true feeling of wide open space and, thanks to the warmer-than-average temperatures, a wide variety of flora and tropical plants thrive here when they wouldn’t survive elsewhere in the UK. The Island has been crowned the sunniest place in the UK several times so make the most of the warm, sunny days and explore some of the wonderful delights that the Garden Isle has to offer with included visits to tropical Ventnor Botanic Garden and the idyllic Farringford House and Gardens. Not forgetting time for you enjoy the popular resort of Shanklin at your own pace.

Enjoy a fabulous stay on one of the UK's most popular holiday islands.

An ideal choice for:

* Exploring some of the highlights of the "The Garden Isle"
* Traditional seaside lovers looking for a relaxing Summer break
* Lovers of picture perfect settings and scenery

INCLUDED Visitor DestinationThis unique garden is protected from the cold northerly winds by chalk downs. The garden is unrivalled for its collections of subtropical plants grown unprotected outdoors. Enjoy free time to explore and learn about the fabulous plants and flowers in both the garden and tropical house. Suitable footwear is required.

Farringford Historic House and Gardens

INCLUDED Visitor Destination

Farringford is a Grade 1 listed building that was the main residence of renowned Victorian Poet Laureate Alfred, Lord Tennyson from 1853 until his death until in 1892. Here he wrote some of his most famous works, including Maud and The Charge of the Light Brigade, as well as entertaining eminent artists and intellectuals of the day. The estate remained a family home until eventually becoming a hotel in 1945.

More than half a century later this dramatic Gothic house has been meticulously restored and redecorated in a late 19th-century style that reflects the Tennysons’ tastes, interests and lifestyle, featuring personal artefacts and original furniture.

It is now open to the public as a heritage attraction. The extensive grounds have also been restored to their authentic Tennyson-era condition, including an enchanting walled garden with a planting scheme based on contemporary descriptions and artistic depictions by the poet’s friends.
