Itinerary
Day 1
Be prepared for a very early morning start today as you join your comfortable coach at any of our convenient local pick up points and start off on your fabulous Swiss adventure as you head for Dover and your channel crossing to France. Continue on to your first overnight hotel, stopping en route to pick up some dinner, before arriving and checking in for a good night's sleep in the late evening.Day 2
We're up early again today for a tasty breakfast and a beautiful drive down into stunning Alpine Switzerland where our first stop is picture perfect Lucerne, where you can enjoy a couple of hours to explore this magical town. We then travel on to nearby Klosters and expect to arrive at our hotel in the late afternoon. Unpack, relax and unwind before dinner and an opportunity to mingle with your fellow travellers.Days 3 - 6
Enjoy hearty buffet breakfasts every morning that are guaranteed to set you up for whatever your day holds. There will be time to enjoy lovely Klosters but we have also included some fabulous excursions for you to enjoy. Return to the hotel every evening for tasty meals and an opportunity to share your experiences.Please note excursion days may be swapped around for operational reasons. This itinerary is for guidance only.
Day 3
One great option is to take the historic Schatzalp funicular railway up into the mountains to the magnificent botanical gardens. At an impressive altitude of 1,861 metres, these spectacular gardens showcase approximately 3,500 different flower species from around the globe - a breathtaking display of international flora set against stunning Alpine panoramas.
Alternatively, embrace the opportunity to explore the dramatic Jakobshorn Mountain on the opposite side of the valley, where cable cars (subject to opening times, and cost not included) whisk you to spectacular viewpoints and mountain adventures await.
If you choose to spend time in Klosters, then there is also lots to see in this world-famous Alpine resort. Stroll through the town, browse the boutique shops, or better still, grab a beer or G&T and relax at a traditional Swiss café whilst soaking up the sophisticated mountain atmosphere.
Begin your Alpine railway adventure in Chur, Switzerland's oldest city, where Roman history meets modern Swiss charm. Explore the beautifully preserved old town with its ancient walls, striking Maltese Tower, and impressive Obertor Gate before boarding one of Switzerland's most scenic railway journeys.
The magnificent Arosa Line is a narrow-gauge railway masterpiece that winds dramatically through pristine Alpine landscapes. As your train departs Chur, watch the historic cityscape give way to breathtaking mountain vistas whilst you climb steadily through forests, valleys, and across elegant viaducts - including the spectacular Langwieser Viaduct with its graceful stone arches. The 63-kilometre journey takes you through 41 tunnels and across 144 bridges, each turn revealing new panoramic views of snow-capped peaks, emerald valleys, and traditional Swiss villages clinging to mountainsides. Arrive in picturesque Arosa, nestled in a sun-drenched valley at 1,800 metres above sea level, where crisp mountain air, spectacular Alpine views, and traditional Swiss hospitality await your arrival.
Enjoy some delightful free time exploring this Alpine gem - perhaps stroll through the resort centre, browse local boutiques, or simply savour a coffee whilst soaking up those magnificent mountain panoramas. After your Arosa experience, board the train for your scenic return journey to Chur, where your comfortable coach will be waiting to transport you back to Klosters.
Today you'll experience the legendary Bernina Regional Railway, travelling from Tiefencastel to Tirano - the absolute highlight and crowning jewel of your Swiss adventure. This spectacular rail journey showcases Switzerland's most breathtaking scenery in all its Alpine glory. Your unforgettable voyage takes you from Switzerland across the border into Italy, treating you to sweeping panoramic vistas that will leave you spellbound. Marvel at snow-capped peaks, pristine glaciers, and dramatic mountain passes as you traverse one of the world's most scenic railway routes.
This iconic journey perfectly captures the essence of Alpine grandeur, making it the ultimate centrepiece of your Swiss holiday experience. Your coach will of course transfer you to/from Tiefencastel and Tirano (please note that the journey may be reversed).

Lucerne - Switzerland's most picturesque city

Bernina Express

As the train climbs to over 2,200 metres above sea level, you'll enjoy panoramic views from the comfort of your seat thanks to the train’s large, curved windows.
