Itinerary

Day 1

Settle back and enjoy the scenic journey to pretty Cirencester where you will have time to explore this historic city in the heart of the Cotswolds. It is then on to magnificant Sudeley Castle to enjoy their stunning Spectacle of Light. Rejoin your coach in the early evening and head on to your comfortable overnight hotel for a late dinner and good night's sleep.

 

Day 2

After a hearty breakfast depart the hotel and head for Bath Christmas Market where you will have plenty of time to shop or sample the great food and drink on offer throughout the city. Rejoin your coach in the afternoon for the journey home, full of festive good cheer.

Sudeley Castle & Gardens Spectacle Of Light

Sudeley Castle's hugely popular Spectacle of Light is a wonderful illuminated trail around the stunning grounds of Sudeley Castle in The Cotswolds.

Explore this magical after-dark experience and follow the illuminated trail filled with magical light displays.

There is the opportunity to purchase delicious food and drink both at the start and during the trail. Mulled Wine, Hot Chocolate and a variety of hot scrumptious food will be available from the Visitor Centre and on the Castle Terrace. Before you leave, why not treat yourself to a winter warming drink and browse the lovely gift shop for some unique Christmas gifts and souvenirs.

A typical walk will take approximately 60 -75 minutes and to enjoy this outdoor Spectacle to the full, it is important to be warm and dress appropriately. Please wear outdoor clothing and sturdy footwear. Entry to the castle is not included.

Cirencester

Explore the picture-perfect centre, which was the second largest town in Britain during Roman times, and in later years a very prosperous medieval wool town. Cirencester is full of tastefully restored courtyards, alleyways and lovely old streets, full of great independent shops and cafes waiting to welcome you with time to browse for a unique gift or treat for yourself. There are many places to explore, including the Abbey Grounds, St. Michael's Park, Cirencester Park, the Roman Amphitheatre, New Brewery Arts, and the Corinium Museum. Cirencester's market place is dominated by the Parish Church of St. John Baptist. You are sure to love the time you spend wandering the streets of this ancient and lively town.

Bath Christmas Market

For the Christmas season the city centre becomes a twinkling celebration with the streets and squares around the iconic centre filled with dozens of traditional chalets offering gifts and treats galore, an illumination trail of its most beautiful historic buildings, Victorian carousel, traditional carols, and street entertainment centred around the Abbey and Roman Baths. Why not indulge in a glass of mulled wine as the driving is taken care of! The compact, visitor-friendly centre is overflowing with places to eat and drink, plus some of the finest independent shops in Britain. Immerse yourself in Bath’s remarkable collection of museums and galleries, while admiring its stunning honey-coloured Georgian architecture that is straight from a Jane Austen novel. For a special treat enjoy the grandeur of the world-famous Pump Room for afternoon tea, and a sample of the healing Bath waters taken by the city's famous residents for hundreds of years. For something simpler but just as historic try a delicious Sally Lunn Bunn served in the famous eating house or to take away, made to the same recipe since 1680!

PLEASE NOTE: The dedicated coach drop off place is scheduled to be Royal Avenue which is a 10-15 minute leisurely walk into Bath. It is close to the famous Royal Crescent and Bath on Ice. This is a 10-minute walk from Milsom Street, the northern zone of the Christmas Market. There are dedicated toilets facilities, including an accessible toilet, available for visitors. Please note, this is downhill on the way into the Bath however there is a slight incline on the way back. The coach parking is 15 minutes from the furthest point of the market. This is the ONLY drop-off and pick-up location for any trips to Bath City Centre during the Christmas Market so if you have any walking difficulties, please consider this prior to booking.
