Itinerary
Day 1
Join your coach this morning as we head for our first visit to Sudeley Castle. With royal connections spanning a thousand years, this Tudor castle has played an important role in the turbulent and changing times of England’s past. The castle rooms contain many fascinating treasures, from ancient Roman times to the present day while outside are award-winning gardens. The castle was once home to Katherine Parr, the last of King Henry VIII’s six wives, and she is buried in the 15th-century church within the grounds. We enjoy a light lunch during our visit here which normally consists of open sandwiches served on local artisan bread, small savoury eats, garnished with home-made coleslaw and kettle crisps, served with a choice of tea or coffee.
Day 2
After a hearty breakfast, we head out to experience some of the prettiest places in the Cotswolds on a scenic drive though this quintessentially English region. Absorb the views over the area’s rolling hills, honey-stone houses and lush meadows as we travel through picture-postcard towns and villages. We will stop in at least two of the Cotswolds’ most beautiful towns and villages including historic Broadway, known as the 'Jewel of the Cotswolds' with its pretty High Street lined with horse chestnut trees and mixture of period houses and picturesque honey coloured Cotswold stone cottages.Day 3
After a leisurely start and a full English Breakfast, we bid farewell to our hotel and head to the nearby lovely town of Stratford-upon-Avon, forever associated with William Shakespeare. It is a thriving market town on the banks of the River Avon, filled with lovely half-timbered buildings and scenic riverside walks.
