Itinerary

Day 1

Join your fellow travellers from one of our convenient local joining points and travel towards Cheltenham to join your nostalgic train journey.

All Aboard the Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway - A Steam-Powered Journey Through Paradise Step back in time aboard this charming heritage railway, lovingly operated by passionate volunteers who keep the golden age of steam alive. Following part of the historic Great Western Railway route that once connected Birmingham to Cheltenham via Stratford-upon-Avon, this delightful line offers so much more than just transport - it's a magical journey through some of England's most beautiful countryside.

Settle into your comfortable carriage as authentic steam locomotives and heritage diesel trains carry you between Cheltenham Racecourse and Broadway through the heart of the glorious Cotswolds. Watch the landscape unfold like a living postcard - sleepy hamlets nestled in rolling valleys, picture-perfect villages with their honey-coloured stone cottages, and magnificent panoramic views stretching across to the distant Malvern Hills.

There's something wonderfully therapeutic about the gentle rhythm of the rails. Sit back, breathe in the fresh countryside air as you're transported through this timeless landscape at a pace that allows you to truly appreciate every beautiful vista.

Your journey concludes in Broadway, the jewel of the Cotswolds, where time seems to stand still. This enchanting village has remained virtually unchanged for centuries, with its wide tree-lined high street flanked by those iconic honey-coloured buildings, all set against a backdrop of gentle rolling hills that have inspired artists and writers for generations. A perfect blend of nostalgia, natural beauty, and quintessential English charm - all from the comfort of a heritage railway carriage!

Then continue on to your 4* Swindon hotel with time to relax and enjoy a tasty dinner.

Day 2

After a hearty breakfast, say farewell to your hotel and head for the stunning city of Bath for time to explore at your leisure. Whether you want to get lost in Austen, visit a Roman Bath or take a rooftop thermal bath in the modern spa, there are choices galore. For a tasty treat try a Sally Lunn Bunn serving the same delicious recipe since 1680, or shop until you drop in the fantastic range of shops and boutiques that line the beautiful mellow stone streets. Depart Bath mid-afternoon and head home, full of happy memories.

Bath

INCLUDED Visitor Destination

Built for pleasure and relaxation, beautiful Bath has been a wellbeing destination since Roman times. The waters are still a big draw, both at the ancient Roman Baths and the thoroughly modern Thermae Bath Spa, which houses the only natural thermal hot springs in Britain you can bathe in. The compact, visitor-friendly centre is overflowing with places to eat and drink, plus some of the finest independent shops in Britain. Immerse yourself in Bath’s remarkable collection of museums and galleries, while admiring Bath's stunning honey-coloured Georgian architecture that is straight from a Jane Austen novel. For a special treat enjoy the grandeur of the world-famous Pump Room for afternoon tea, and a sample of the healing Bath waters taken by the city's famous residents for hundreds of years. For something simpler but just as historic try a delicious Sally Lunn Bunn served in the famous eating house or to take away, made to the same recipe since 1680!
