Explore the Lincolnshire coast & country

Stay in a top hotel right on the seafront opposite Skegness Pier

Join us on this delightful tour to the North East of England. We'll be based in the heart of one of the UK's most famous seaside resorts, Skegness and have some wonderful excursions lined up for you. These include a tour through the charming Lincolnshire Wolds and coast along with visits to the pretty towns of Boston and Spalding.

Our base for this tour is the iconic resort of Skegness. This seaside resort comes with the classic English seaside holiday activities; the donkey rides on the beach, the pier, the crazy golf, but there’s more to come from this Lincolnshire town. “Skeggy”, as it’s affectionately known, is home to several regular international arts and music festivals which transform the town every year. With rollercoaster rides and a seal sanctuary there’s also plenty for kids to enjoy, whether it’s the thrills of a ride or the joy of seeing seal pups on their way back to being reintroduced to the wild. With a Blue Flag beach, Skegness has something for everyone.

Excursions

Lincolnshire Wolds Village Tour

The Lincolnshire Wolds is a range of hills in Lincolnshire and a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty whilst also being the highest area of land in eastern England between Yorkshire and Kent. Attractive hamlets and villages are scattered throughout the area, adding to the charm of the landscape. The market towns on the edge of the Wolds were traditionally the centres of the rural life as places to meet, greet, buy and sell. Today they still play that role with their active markets and lively centres. They are a great place to spend some time and we know that you’re going to love this tour and we'll combine it with some time exploring the lovely Lincolnshire coast too.

Boston

In the 15th century Boston was the wealthiest port outside London. Set in the Fens, a region of farmland reclaimed from coastal marshes by the Wash, Boston was where English wool was loaded onto ships to trade with Hanseatic league cities and the port from which a group of Englishmen set sail for the New World and founded a city there of the same name. Today Boston is a charming market town by the sea with a wealth of sights to see including the impressive St Botolph's Church and the Guildhall. It is also home to the Bubblecar Museum, the only museum for cars under 700cc!

Spalding

Spalding is a warm and charming Georgian town in the Lincolnshire Fens. The town stands astride the banks of the River Welland, in an area of reclaimed marshland. It is here that bulb growers and market gardeners, raise outstanding crops in its legendary rich fertile soil. It is a really interesting place to stroll around. The town contains many charming 18th-century buildings, covering a network of streets on both banks of the river, which is spanned by seven bridges. One of the oldest and most interesting buildings is the restored Ayscoughfee Hall on the Welland's eastern bank. Now open to the public as a museum, set in beautiful gardens. A path lines both sides of the river and a popular circular walk, navigating along both banks, is both easy and very pretty.
