Grand Burstin Hotel
Looking not unlike a majestic ocean liner, the Grand Burstin towers over Folkestone’s attractive harbour and offers excellent choice of facilities and a full programme of LIVE CABARET. Take a break at the Grand Burstin and dine in style, unwind in relaxed surroundings, maybe even enjoy a little light exercise in the Pavilion Leisure Club (additional charge). And for the evenings, perhaps best of all, is the entertainment...renowned as one of the UK’s great entertainment hotels, the Grand Burstin’s resident team put on the glitz and glamour for a different cabaret spectacular every evening.
After joining the coach at one of our convenient local pick up points, we head for Folkestone and the county of Kent with convenient coffee/lunch stops along the way. We expect to arrive at the Grand Burstin late afternoon, in time for your first evening of fabulous cabaret entertainment and dinner.
Enjoy an early breakfast before heading for the port and your short sea crossing to France. Then enjoy the short journey to the coastal gem of Le Touquet where we have included lunch and some free time to explore on your own. Then rejoin the coach for your return journey and channel crossing back to Folkestone where you can enjoy a late dinner and maybe take in some more fabulous cabaret entertainment?
After a final hearty breakfast it is sadly time to make our way home. After stopping for a coffee/lunch break, we continue homewards.
For a small town Le Touquet-Paris-Plage has an awful lot to offer. From 1920s glamour to family fun and even high-octane beach sports, there's never a dull moment in this luxurious seaside escape.
Known as 'Paris-on-Sea', Le Touquet-Paris-Plage is enjoying a popularity revival from its early 20th Century heyday, when it was a playground for the wealthy and the escape of choice for the British literary establishment. Noted writers such as PG Wodehouse, Noël Coward and HG Wells have all taken a promenade along the town's long picturesque beach and basked in its golden sunshine.
Ravaged by the Second World War, Le Touquet-Paris-Plage's popularity briefly diminished, but today its charm and faded seaside glamour has made it more popular than ever, with the chic residents of Paris migrating to its sandy shore every summer.
Take a wander through the town's streets and you'll soon find dazzling examples of 1920s design flair, with an array of colourful historic seaside villas to discover.
Please note that whilst we have a full day excursion to le Touquet, after allowing for travelling time and ferry crossings we should have around 4 hours to enjoy the city.
