Sit back and relax for our long journey north with convenient stops, crossing the border into bonnie Scotland and the charming town of Aberfoyle, known as the gateway to the Highlands. On arrival late afternoon/early evening take time to settle in to your comfortable hotel ready to sample the best in Scottish hospitality. Maybe take time for a wee dram at the bar before your first delicious dinner, with time to meet fellow travellers and before your adventure begins.

Day 2

Enjoy a delicious Scottish breakfast each morning and be prepared to be amazed every day. There will be time to relax at your hotel and enjoy Aberfoyle, but we know you're here to enjoy the unforgettable excursions we have included in your package. You'll also enjoy delicious Scottish fayre and even entertainment on one evening. Snuggle up with a wee dram and look back on your amazing adventures of the day.

You will have a free morning with lunch instead of dinner today before you set off To Edinburgh. It is a 15 minute walk into the charming village of Aberfoyle on the banks of the River Forth in the magnificent Queen Elizabeth Forest Park. It has an attractive main street and is well served with individual shops, cafés and restaurants. Learn more about the area's natural beauty and history at the Trossachs Discovery Centre. The Scottish Wool Centre relates the full story of wool, from sheep to the shops, through live sheep shows and hands-on demonstrations of spinning and working sheepdogs.

After lunch, we will head to the wonderful Scottish capital city of Edinburgh. Your afternoon and evening visit can be filled with a mix of historical exploration, cultural experiences, and vibrant nightlife. Take a leisurely stroll down the Royal Mile, a historic street lined with charming shops, historic buildings, and lively street performers. Maybe head to Princes Street Gardens for a relaxing walk. This green oasis in the heart of the city offers beautiful landscapes, and you can enjoy great views of the castle from below. For dinner, head to one of Edinburgh’s many excellent restaurants for traditional Scottish cuisine or choose from a wide range of other options available in this great city for budgets to suit every size of wallet. If you’re in the mood for entertainment, check out a live music venue. Edinburgh is also renowned for its vibrant pub scene, offering a mix of traditional and modern establishments where you can enjoy a drink, good food, and a lively atmosphere.

Please note: There will be a late return to the hotel so there will not be any chance for snacks or refreshments when we arrive back. Some guests will be taking in the Edinburgh Tattoo in the evening. See our other listings or contact us if you are interested in adding the Tattoo to your booking.
