Royal Norfolk Coastal Gems & Sandringham House & Gardens!
2020 - Royal Hotel - 5 Days (OML5014)
Norfolk is a beautiful county with big skies, gorgeous waterscapes, lovely coastal towns and villages, lots of history and grand houses. Join us as we base ourselves in a vibrant resort and take the coach out on some super excursions. After all, if it's good enough for the Queen...!
Great Yarmouth is one of the UK’s most popular seaside resorts, with an enviable mix of sandy beaches, attractions, entertainment and heritage. Full of holiday surprises and contrasts, the resort is set amidst beautiful coastal and rural surroundings, alongside the famous Norfolk Broads. When the sun goes down, Great Yarmouth becomes a wonderland of colour, as the illuminations light up the town. Behind the glitter and lights lies a charming town, steeped in history. Discover one of the most complete medieval walls in England, the historic South Quay and Nelson’s other column!
We have included a super day visiting the Sandringham Estate with admission to the House and Gardens. There is also a gift shop, museum, splendid grounds and a cafe too. We are sure you'll love it here.
Visiting Cromer is an absolute must when in Norfolk. It's a delightful place to wander around, with a pier and beach. If you like a crab sandwich, Cromer is the place to get lunch - perhaps washed down with a chilled glass of white?
PLEASE NOTE: Price is per person and based on two people sharing a twin/double room. Single room supplements and upgrades are not included.
The Royal Hotel, Great Yarmouth
The Royal Hotel is situated on Great Yarmouth’s seafront, close to the pier and resort attractions, and has super sea views. The famous writer, Charles Dickens, spent time at the Royal Hotel whilst writing the novel David Copperfield. The hotel was also patronized by Edward VII, with the original Edward VII crest still on the front of the hotel. Facilities at the Royal include a restaurant, bar, gardens, lounge and lift. Bedrooms offer colour TV and tea/coffee making facilities.
After joining the coach at one of our local pick up points, head east to the Norfolk and the resort of Great Yarmouth. There will be convenient coffee/lunch stops en route and after we have settled into our rooms, dinner will be served this evening.
Enjoy hearty breakfasts each morning with time to enjoy our base resort at leisure along with two included excursions. One one day we have a day visiting Sandringham Estate - private home to her Majesty the Queen - and on the other we visit the gorgeous town of Cromer and nearby Sheringham.
After a last delicious breakfast it is sadly time to make our way home. After stopping for a coffee/lunch break, we continue homewards.
Cromer & Sheringham
Cromer is a classic North Norfolk seaside town, situated on a cliff-top overlooking fine sandy beaches. Cromer Pier has survived despite bad damage over the years and is a traditional seaside pier with a Lifeboat Station and Pavilion Theatre, which still stages end of pier shows. Cromer was developed into a significant resort by the late Victorians, when healthy breezes were sought rather than sun-drenched sands. Cromer church dominates the town as it has the tallest tower in Norfolk. The streets and alleys are crammed with shops, pubs, restaurants and cafes. You'll love it here...
Sheringham is a traditional seaside town, which grew up around its old fishing village, and a few little boats still bring in the daily catch. Sheringham is home of the North Norfolk Railway (The Poppy Line), which operates steam train rides to Holt. Sea, cliffs, fine sands and bracing air are some of the reasons why Sheringham is so popular. Sheringham has plenty of facilities, including many interesting shops, pubs, restaurants and tea rooms.
Sandringham House & Gardens - Private Home To Her Majesty The Queen!
“Dear Old Sandringham, the place I love better than anywhere else in the world” King George V.
Sandringham is a friendly and informal place to visit, with knowledgeable guides in every room of the house and acres of beautiful gardens to explore while the museum houses extraordinary collections of royal vehicles, rare ceramics, photographs and memorabilia. There is plenty to see and do around the estate as well. Don't miss the parish church of St Mary Magdalene with its hosts of carved and painted angels and its many royal memorials, and of course the restaurant or Stables Tea Room can offer reviving hot or cold drinks, snacks and meals before you investigate the various Visitor Centre shops.
