Enjoy this fabulous midweek break showcasing some of the best South Devon resorts, towns and scenery. Paignton, with its long stretch of beautiful and easily accessible beachfront, promenade, traditional pier and colourful beach huts, offers one of the brightest jewels in the English Riviera’s crown. Based at the superbly located Marine Hotel, directly opposite Paignton seafront and a short walk to the town centre, you'll have ample time to explore and relax in this lovely seaside resort and maybe enjoy an ice cream on the beach as well as joining us on our included excursions.

We head to the beautiful resort of Teignmouth, a stunning coastal town with a lovely high street, historic Georgian buildings, a Victorian Pier and more long sandy beaches. You can also enjoy a stroll around Dartmouth, where you can discover more about our rich naval heritage and find one of the UK's most impressive harbours and maybe have some fish and chips on the seafront whilst watching the boats come in.

Itinerary

Day 1

Join your comfortable coach this morning at your convenient local pick-up point and head south west towards the glamourous English Riviera! On arrival in your resort of Paignton there will be plenty of time to settle in and enjoy a seaside stroll before dinner - your hotel is ideally situated directly opposite the seafront and a short walk from the town centre. Enjoy a drink in the bar to meet friends and fellow travellers, and make sure you have worked up an appetite to enjoy your evening meal.

Days 2 to 4

Your comfortable central hotel allows you to make the most of your free time to explore this lovely resort, from the long accessible beachfront and promenade to the traditional pier, colourful beach huts and amusements there is plenty to entertain you. The seafront and town centre are equally close to your excellent hotel. Maybe try some great fish & chips or ice cream on the pier - just make sure you leave room for your delicious evening meals, which are followed by great entertainment on some evenings.

Day 5

After a final hearty Devon breakfast it is time to say farewell to the English Riviera today. Relax on board your comfortable coach as you head homewards with lovely memories of new experiences, friends and beautiful places.

Paignton

There's plenty to do here all-year-round with a huge number of indoor and outdoor attractions. Don’t miss Devon’s 18th century Paignton Harbour, a real maritime gem with a bevy of boats, a historic harbour wall plus delightful restaurants and cafes where you can sample the famous local fish or try some tapas. This is England’s Seafood Coast with delicious fresh fish coming in daily from nearby Brixham. Tucked away behind Paignton Harbour is Fairy Cove a hidden Devon beach to discover. You’ll also love the gardens at nearby Roundham Head with its jaw-dropping views and access to Goodrington Sands, another spectacular beach.

Teignmouth

The town sits on the edge of the mouth of the river Teign and the South Devon coast – and is surrounded by lush Devon countryside, so you won’t find a more beautiful setting for a visit. Teignmouth is the ideal year-round destination with a lovely promenade, Victorian pier, lido, play park and crazy golf all within easy reach of the beaches and town centre. The Town Beach is a long expanse of sand with the pier, arcades and promenade whilst River Beach is full of beautiful fishing boats and has a wonderful quaint village feel.

Dartmouth

You have to go a long way to find a town as pretty as Dartmouth. Overlooking one of the finest natural harbours in the UK, Dartmouth has a strong maritime heritage with the iconic Royal Naval College set on a hill overlooking the town. You will find a host of narrow lanes, stairways and corridors, and historical streets to explore. The town has fine restaurants, as well as arts, antiques and craft shops just about everywhere. The Greenway Ferry takes visitors across the river to the world famous home of Agatha Christie, who so loved this area. Marine Hotel Paignton Paignton

Situated on a level position, directly opposite Paignton seafront and a short walk to the town centre, you couldn’t ask for a better location on the English Riviera. The Marine hotel is airy, modern and light yet highly comfortable with a warm and friendly family atmosphere. All bedrooms are equipped with a hair dryer, TV and tea and coffee making facilities. Sit back and relax in one of the comfy chairs situated in the wrap around conservatory which enjoys panoramic views of the Bay.

Please note: There are four floors to the hotel. A lift goes to all four floors but some do still require a few stairs after the lift. Sea views are on request at a supplement but they do have 5 steps down and 5 steps up to access them. Should you have any specific mobility requirements (i.e. must have level access to the lift etc) please advise us on booking.
