As the “Sole Survivor”, Waverley boasts a rich history and showcases a magnificent triple expansion steam engine that will leave you in awe. Experience the authentic charm of a real steamship as you hear the telegraph ring, witness the engine’s graceful motion and sense the gentle aroma of hot oil and steam. You can even watch the paddles turning through the portholes!

With almost 80 years of history, Waverley is not just a ship but a living testament to a bygone era. During your cruise, indulge in a hot or cold snack, or relax in one of the comfortable lounges. The Talisman Bar, situated on the Lower Deck, boasts a selection of malt whisky's, spirits, guest ales, hot and cold drinks. No cruise is complete without visiting the Souvenir Shop, where exclusive gifts and mementos await, allowing you to carry a piece of Waverley’s legacy home with you.

Join Waverley for a traditional sail down the Bristol Channel which departs Penarth at 09:45 to the delightful North Devon seaside town of Ilfracombe. Decide on the day to have free time in Ilfracombe or stay on ship for coastal cruise. Waverley will depart Ilfracombe at 15:30 and arrives back at Penarth 20:30.

Important Information:
As Waverley is a historic passenger ship, there are relatively steep stairs between the different decks. If you have any concerns or require assistance navigating the stairs, please ask crew members for help. Seating is limited and not allocated and is on a first come, first served basis so you may need to stand for the duration of the sailing. The top deck is uncovered so please wear appropriate clothing.

Due to safe manual handling regulations and the nature of the gangways, electric wheelchairs or motor scooters are unable to be carried on board Waverley. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause. The gangways leading onto the ship have foot ridges for safety purposes therefore wheelchairs can’t be pushed across gangways. These trips may therefore not be suitable for anyone with limited mobility. For further accessibility information, please click here.

Children under the age of 10 should be accompanied at all times and not permitted to move around the vessel without adult supervision. Smoking and vaping or using e-cigarettes is only permitted on the open Promenade Deck.
