Cotswolds Villages including BroadwayINCLUDED Visitor Destination
The world famous Cotswolds are the largest Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in England, covering nearly 800 square miles over 5 counties. You are sure to fall in love with the honey-coloured stone, quaint villages and lively market towns and rolling hills, the ‘wolds’ themselves.
Often referred to as the 'Jewel of the Cotswolds', beautiful and historic Broadway is a memorable place to visit with its pretty High Street lined with horse chestnut trees and mixture of period houses and picturesque honey coloured Cotswold stone cottages which have lured visitors for centuries. It is a real pleasure to browse the cute shops and tea rooms. Perhaps pay a visit to the lovely Lygon Arms Hotel and snuggle by the fire with a tasty treat. It is intriguing to think that, during the Civil War, Oliver Cromwell actually spent the night before the Battle of Worcester here, while King Charles Ihad previously used the building to meet and rally his royalist supporters.
OxfordINCLUDED Visitor Destination
Oxford, The City of Dreaming Spires, is famous the world over for its University and place in history. For over 800 years, it has been a home to royalty and scholars, and since the 9th Century an established town, although people are known to have lived in the area for thousands of years. Take time to discover the history and heritage of Oxford, home to 1,500 listed buildings from every major period of British architectural history from the 11th Century onwards. The centre looks like an enchanted fairy-tale city – making Oxford is a firm favourite of filmmakers from all over the world, from Harry Potter to Inspector Morse along with having inspired countless famous writers over the centuries. Oxford is flat and compact, with many of its major attractions, including the University of Oxford and its 38 colleges, Bodleian Library, the museums, and Oxford Castle Unlocked right in the centre – perfect to explore on foot.
BathINCLUDED Visitor DestinationBuilt for pleasure and relaxation, beautiful Bath has been a wellbeing destination since Roman times. The waters are still a big draw, both at the ancient Roman Baths and the thoroughly modern Thermae Bath Spa, which houses the only natural thermal hot springs in Britain you can bathe in. The compact, visitor-friendly centre is overflowing with places to eat and drink, plus some of the finest independent shops in Britain. Immerse yourself in Bath’s remarkable collection of museums and galleries, while admiring Bath's stunning honey-coloured Georgian architecture that is straight from a Jane Austen novel.
