In addition to enjoying free time in Ostend and the facilities at the Royal Astrid Hotel we will take you the short distance to Bruges for a day of sightseeing in one of the most beautiful cities in Europe along with a scenic coastal excursion to Holland and a visit to the seaside town of Sluis for a little bit of local shopping....

Itinerary

Day 1

Join your coach at your convenient local pick-up point, and get comfortable as we head to Kent to join our ferry at Dover for the crossing to France.

On arrival in Calais, we continue the short distance to our hotel in the centre of Ostend to check in. Then maybe have a drink in the hotel bar before tucking into your first dinner at the hotel and, of course, your drinks inclusive package.

Days 2 - 4

Enjoy hearty breakfasts every morning along with plenty of free time to explore and relax in Ostend. Don't forget to join us for your INCLUDED excursions to beautiful Bruges along with your Belgian coastal tour and visit to the pretty seaside town of Sluis, just across the broder in Holland. Returning to your hotel in the evenings for dinner, free time and your INCLUDED drinks package.

Day 5

After breakfast, say farewell to Ostend and sit back and relax as we head back towards Calais and the crossing back to the UK and the onward journey home.

Bruges

The enchanting town of Bruges remain one of the most popular places to visit in Belgium and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site renowned for its picturesque canals and winding streets of medieval buildings and remarkable architecture including the beautiful 13th century Belfry and Market Square. Why not enjoy a carriage ride along the historic streets or see the beauty of Bruges from the water with a boat trip on the canals around the city. Visit one of the many chocolate shops or or sample a beer in one of the traditional Belgian breweries.

Ostend

This well known, enchanting Belgian seaside town combines a fascinating history with a thriving modern culture. Described as the cultural capital of the Belgian coast, it has become a firm favourite with British visitors. Ostend is Belgium's premier resort known as the "City by the Sea", with miles of sandy beaches. Stroll down the delightful wide promenades where you will find many shops to browse and buy or perhaps just relax in one of the many bars or restaurants. Ostend has grown from a humble fishing village into a lively and cosmopolitan seaside resort with a pretty harbour, marina, casino and pedestrianised shopping streets. Visitors will be amazed by all there is to see and do with many activities taking place all year round. It is a fine place to sample a wonderful, friendly European ambience.

Sluis

Sluis, a charming town in the Netherlands, offers a delightful blend of history, culture, and scenic beauty. Known for its picturesque canals and historic architecture, Sluis invites visitors to explore its medieval streets and the iconic Belfort tower. Discover local history at the town museum and enjoy shopping in unique boutiques. Food lovers will appreciate the delicious local cuisine in cozy cafes and restaurants. The surrounding countryside, perfect for cycling and walking, adds to Sluis's appeal. With its rich heritage, welcoming atmosphere, and beautiful landscapes, Sluis provides a relaxing and enjoyable experience for visitors.

Royal Astrid Hotel Ostend

Hotel & Wellness Royal Astrid is a three-star hotel located 100m from the beautiful sandy beach of Ostend. The hotel is known for its warm welcome and all 173 bedrooms are well appointed with Wifi throughout (please note that in keeping with many 3* hotels in Europe, complimentary tea & coffee making facilities are not available). Single rooms are double or twin for sole occupancy. There is a lovely bar and restaurant for those preferring to stay in rather than explore the extensive range of nearby bars are restaurants. The hotel has a spa & wellness complex of about 1000 m², which includes a lovely swimming pool (extra charges apply for some services).
