Truro & the BIG Christmas Market

INCLUDED Visitor Destination

Cornwall's only city has everything you'd expect from a modern, well connected city but on a human scale - great shopping, great entertainment and a blossoming food and drink scene. Truro's heritage is evident in historic architecture, delightful parks and public spaces but at the same time is contemporary, quirky and unique. Here, vibrant local independent shops and market traders rub shoulders with the usual national retailers in an eclectic mix with a creative vibe. Truro has a criss-cross of cobbled roads, browsable streets and magical mews, always rewarding for the curious and the unhurried. Rising above it all is the iconic architecture of the cathedral's three spires which is well worth a visit.

You can also embrace the magic and joy of the festive market. The BIG Christmas Market takes over Lemon Quay in the month before Christmas, bringing a heart-warming yuletide buzz to the centre of Cornwall’s capital city. A visit to rows of cosy wooden cabins bedecked with festive sparkle is an immersive experience – a real highlight in the season of goodwill. Tuck into mulled wine and mince pies, as local choirs serenade you with yuletide carols, and Christmas lights sparkle overhead. It really is the most wonderful time of the year! With all the sights, smells and flavours of a Cornish Christmas, consider this your invitation to buy from local farmers, small food producers and talented craftspeople, using your precious Christmas spend as a force for good!
