Itinerary

Day 1

Join your coach from one of our convenient local pick up points and head up into stunning mid-Wales. Enjoy a scenic drive through Mid Wales, stopping off at pretty Hay on Wye. From therecontinue on to Llandrindod Wells to check in, relax and look forward to a lovely evening meal with your fellow travellers.

Day 2

Enjoy a hearty Welsh breakfast before your adventure into the magnificent Elan Valley begins! Return to the hotel for a chance to share a drink and enjoy some good food as you reflect on everything you have seen.

Day 3

After a final Welsh breakfast it is time to bid farewell to Llandrindod Wells and head back home.

Elan Valley Scenic Tour with Ranger Guide

INCLUDED Visitor DestinationThe Elan Valley is just 3 miles from Rhayader on the southern edge of the Cambrian Mountains in Mid Wales. It covers an area over 72 square miles, making up 1% of the whole of Wales and is designated as an International Dark Sky Park. The area is famous for its spectacular dams and Victorian architecture and there is a large Visitor Centre.

The centre's team of Rangers carry out practical nature conservation work, as well as helping the many visitors to the Elan Estate to enjoy and appreciate the countryside and its wildlife. Rangers have put up more than 300 nest-boxes for Pied Flycatchers, Redstarts, Tits and Tawny Owls as well as 50 bat-boxes. You will get so much more from your scenic tour with our Ranger on board to give you some first hand knowledge and information, bringing the valley to life

Hay on Wye

INCLUDED Visitor DestinationA gem set on the River Wye, Hay-on-Wye is the small town famous the world over for books. With the river flowing gracefully along its north western edge Hay, as locals refer to it, abuts the England Wales border. Its reputation as a town packed with bookshops and as the venue for the annual Festival of Literature are only two of its many facets. The castle, the cinema, the fire station and alleyways are all book shops, but there are also plenty of galleries, antique shops cafes, pubs and restaurants to explore during your visit.
