Located just a few miles from the bright lights of Blackpool, Lytham and St Annes are worlds apart in both character and atmosphere. Home to a fine promenade, a beautifully restored Victorian pier, miles of unspoilt, expansive sandy beach, elegant parks and floral gardens, old half-timbered buildings, quaint shops and the famous Lytham Green and Windmill, the dual seaside towns of Lytham and St Annes continue to remind us why we all love the British seaside so much.

You'll be staying in the popular and ideally located Inn on the Prom Hotel. You'll have plenty of time to explore and relax in Lytham St. Annes, but you can also join our great included excursions. Discover the classic seaside resort of Southport with its panoramic seafront and picturesque promenade, more glorious sandy beaches and one of the UK's oldest iron piers for you to enjoy and explore!

We've included some great excursions in your holiday price, too! We'll take you to visit Ormskirk on market day along with Southport on one day and then to Morecambe and our lovely Wonders or the Waterway cruise. What's not to love?

Itinerary

Day 1

Join your coach at your convenient local pick up point this morning, and relax as we head north with suitable stops on the way to arrive in Lytham St Annes on the Lancashire coast. On arrival, take time to settle in and perhaps enjoy a breath of sea air and stroll down the prom. Enjoy a drink in the bar before enjoying your first evening meal.

Days 2 to 4

Enjoy a delicious breakfast each morning to set you up for the day ahead. Your comfortable seafront hotel allows you to make the most of your free time in your lovely resort and its beautiful location on the Fylde Coast. Discover the Victorian Pier and take a stroll along the beach or prom, and perhaps treat yourself to an ice cream or some fish and chips. Make sure you leave room for your evening meals, which are followed by great entertainment on some evenings, giving you the opportunity to step out and sample Lytham St. Annes by night on other evenings, or simply relax with a drink from the bar.

Spend all of your time exploring the delights of Lytham St. Annes at your own pace or join your INCLUDED excursions to explore some of the very best that Lancashire has to offer including Ormskirk, Southport, Morecambe and the stunning Lune Aqueduct.

Day 5

Southport

Traditional seaside amusements await; stroll down the UK’s oldest iron pier and try the old penny slot machines in the Pavilion at the far end, or ride traditional carousels at Funland. At the Marine Lake, you'll find a choice of water based activities to keep the whole family entertained. The classic seaside resort has scenic parks and gardens, fabulous shopping, exciting nightlife and a mouth-watering array of restaurants. Inspired by European style food markets, Southport Market is home to some great food vendors and a central bar, and a great place to spend time relaxing. It is even rumoured that Napoleon III was so impressed with elegant Lord Street during his time living in Southport, that the great boulevards of Paris were modelled on it! The Victorian canopied boulevard edged with scenic gardens is full of speciality shops and designer boutiques and a must see for its beauty and of course shopping!

Ormskirk Market

INCLUDED Visitor DestinationOrmskirk is a historic Market Town in the heart of West Lancashire steeped in history and character. It offers excellent shopping with a mix of high street and independent retailers and a wide range of restaurants, cafes and pubs all in walking distance within a compact town centre. Discover more about the town’s 800-year history with a visit to the 12th century Ormskirk Parish Church. Named St Peter and St Paul, the church is one of the only three churches in the country to have both a steeple and a spire. There’s been a market here since 1286 and these days it takes place every Thursday and Saturday in the heart of the town centre. With around 100 stalls the market attracts hundreds of bargain hunters each market day. Whatever you're looking for, you'll find it on the market with a great of range food stalls selling fresh breads, homemade pies, cheese, olives, not to mention fresh fish, meat and vegetables. You'll also find a variety of clothing stalls, flowers, cards, furniture, hardware and handmade gifts.

Morecambe

INCLUDED Visitor DestinationMorecambe enjoys one of the finest views from its promenade of any seaside town in England, a magnificent sweep of coastline and bay, looking across to the Lakeland mountains. While in Morecambe, you must visit the Eric Morecambe statue standing in his famous pose. Unveiled by the Queen in 1999, the statue of this well-loved comedian attracts tourists who queue to have their photo taken. Further down the prom lies Happy Mount Park, where family-friendly attractions complement the atmosphere of peace and tranquillity of a traditional park. If you’re in the mood for shopping, Morecambe has a great mix of quirky, independent shops. Visit boutique stores and gift shops along the Promenade or head to the town centre for some high street shopping.

The stunning backdrop of Morecambe Bay and the Lake District hills looks stunning, especially in the evening with the superb lighting effects.

Wonder of the Waterways Cruise - Lune Aqueduct

This wonderful canal cruise through Lancaster also offers customers truly breathtaking views from the wonderful Lune Aqueduct. A great view of the magnificent spire of Lancaster Cathedral is captured as the boat passes underneath. Once through the city centre the boat cruises through the suburban outskirts and into the North Lancashire countryside before arriving at the 100-foot structure that is the Lune Aqueduct. Subject to weather conditions passengers may alight and take in the views from the top of the Aqueduct.

Inn on the Prom Lytham St Annes

This family-run, 3-star hotel is, as the name suggests, located on the Promenade in lovely Lytham St. Annes. Comfortable en-suite bedrooms offer TV, tea and coffee making facilities, telephone and hairdryer. There is a lift to all floors although some rooms have a few steps to access. There is free Wi-fi throughout the hotel. Nivens Health spa offers everything from a relaxing swim in the heated indoor pool to an invigorating nordic sauna, solarium and gym. There is an elegant restaurant and a mezzanine bar with fabulous sea views.
