Achensee Cruise, Train & Rattenberg

A cruise on Lake Achensee offers a serene and scenic experience amidst the Austrian Alps. As Tyrol's largest lake, its crystal-clear waters are framed by majestic mountains, providing breathtaking views. The leisurely boat ride allows tourists to soak in the natural beauty, spot local wildlife, and relax in the peaceful atmosphere.

For over 130 years, the Achensee steam cog railway has been chugging up the mountain from Jenbach in the Inntal valley to Lake Achensee, covering nearly seven kilometers and rising 440 meters in elevation. It is the oldest railway of its kind in Europe.

Experience a journey on the steam cog railway, which has been in operation since 1889. Travel through romantic landscapes and woodlands as the train makes its way from the Inntal valley to Lake Achensee, the largest lake in Tirol. The journey concludes at the Seespitz station in Maurach, where you can embark on your next adventure: a leisurely panoramic boat cruise on Lake Achensee. The Achenseeschifffahrt boat tours are scheduled to coordinate with the railway, ensuring minimal transfer times and a seamless combination of train and boat rides.

After the cruise, a visit to nearby Rattenberg, Austria's smallest town, is a delightful compliment. Known for its well-preserved medieval architecture and renowned glassblowing tradition, Rattenberg offers charming cobblestone streets lined with artisan shops and cafes. Explore the Augustinian Museum for a dose of history, and enjoy a glassblowing demonstration. Together, a Lake Achensee cruise and a visit to Rattenberg promise an enchanting blend of natural beauty and cultural charm.

Pinzgau Narrow Gauge Railway & Krimml Falls

Riding the Pinzgau Narrow Gauge Railway offers tourists a charming journey through the scenic Austrian Alps. This historic train ride, starting from Zell am See, winds through picturesque valleys and past quaint villages, providing stunning views of the lush landscape. The leisurely pace allows ample time to appreciate the beauty of the Pinzgau region.

A visit to Krimml Falls, Europe's highest waterfall, complements the railway experience perfectly. Upon arrival, the sight and sound of the cascading water are awe-inspiring. Hike the well-maintained trails for various viewpoints, each offering a unique perspective of the falls. The surrounding Hohe Tauern National Park adds to the allure with its rich biodiversity.
