Lille & Bruges Christmas Markets
2020 - Hotel Ibis Styles Lille Centre Gare Beffroi - 3 Days (OEZ3001)
Great excursion options & stay in the heart of Lille..
Enjoy two fabulous continental Christmas Markets!
For a short festive break, we think we've packed a lot in! On this tour, not will you get the opportunity to visit the romantic city of Bruges and its fabulous Christmas Market, but you'll also have the opportunity to pick up some bargains at Cite Europe, one of France's most popular shopping centres. Of course, as you are based in Lille, you'll also get lost of opportunity to visit this city's lovely Christmas Market too!
Our base for this holiday is one of the loveliest places to go in France, Lille. This pretty city combines culture, gastronomy, great shopping and a unique atmosphere stemming from the city’s history as part of French Flanders.
Nowhere is this more evident than in the impressive Grand’Place or Place du Général-de-Gaulle in the heart of Vieux Lille. A natural meeting point for locals, this vast square is also a veritable architectural showcase, with buildings ranging in date from the 17th to the 20th centuries – eight of them listed historic monuments. At Christmas-time, the entire area comes alive with festive spirit as the Lille Christmas Markets comes to life!
Especially noteworthy is the 17th-century Stock Exchange or Vieille Bourse, comprising 24 ornate little houses, all identical, clustered around a courtyard. Step through one of the four arches to browse the secondhand book market hosted here, and to watch games of chess in action – or even join in with one yourself! Also on the Grand’Place, the Théâtre Du Nord occupies the former Grand’Garde, used to house soldiers from the sentry guard, while the Déesse (Goddess) statue commemorates the city’s resistance to the Austrian siege of 1792.
PLEASE NOTE: Price is per person and based on two people sharing a twin/double room. Single room supplements and upgrades are not included.

Bruges Christmas Market
From the end of November the historic city centre of Bruges will be transformed into a giant Christmas market. In addition to a wonderful atmosphere and plenty of seasonal jollity, you will also be able to find that unusual last-minute present for someone special.
The Bruges Christmas and winter market is located on the Markt and Simon Stevinplein, in the cosy city centre. There will be a good range of stalls offering all kinds of delicious local food and drinks. Home-made hot chocolate, ice-cold jenever, spiced glühwein... along with Belgian beers, cheeses and hearty dishes. There’s something for everyone. The Bruges winter market is also a great place to shop for an original Christmas gift. You’ll find a wide range of attractive, original and handmade Christmas presents. And choral concerts are planned for you to enjoy, too. Merry Christmas!
Located right next to the Channel Tunnel, Cité Europe is an international shopping centre. Both a seaside shopping centre and an essential tourist stop for those crossing the Channel, Cité Europe has over 120 shops, a Carrefour hypermarket, a 12-screen cinema, a bowling alley and an incomparable “Gourmet City” with about fifteen restaurants.
Designed by architect Paul Andreu as a great arc of light passing through an archway symbolising the tunnel, a real beacon in the landscape of Eurotunnel’s French terminal, Cité Europe provides a moment of relaxation with clear spaces, open to the sky, making it a warm, welcoming and bright place.
