DAYLST
Enjoy a delightful day out filled with Welsh charm, scenic views and a touch of nostalgia on our day trip to Laugharne, combined with a memorable ride on the Gwili Railway with traditional Welsh elevenses included.
Our day begins with a visit to the Gwili Railway for a charming heritage rail experience. Step aboard a lovingly restored steam or vintage diesel train and enjoy a leisurely journey through the picturesque Gwili Valley. As the train gently winds through wooded countryside and alongside the River Gwili, you can sit back, relax and soak up the scenery.
Included with your railway experience is a traditional Welsh elevenses, adding an extra treat to the journey. Enjoy tea or coffee accompanied by a classic Welsh snack, making the experience even more special and sociable.
We then continue to the beautiful coastal town of Laugharne, famously associated with poet Dylan Thomas. Set along the Taf Estuary, Laugharne offers a peaceful atmosphere, colourful houses and lovely views across the water. You’ll have free time to explore at your own pace, perhaps taking a stroll along the estuary, browsing the small independent shops or enjoying refreshments in one of the welcoming cafés. The ruins of Laugharne Castle provide a striking backdrop and are well worth a look for those interested in history and photography.
With return coach travel included, this day trip offers a relaxed and enjoyable way to experience two very different but equally rewarding Welsh attractions. From coastal charm and literary connections to steam trains and countryside views, it’s a wonderfully varied day out that combines heritage, scenery and a warm Welsh welcome.
