Enjoy a fabulous, great value long Easter weekend break on one of the UK's most popular holiday islands. The Isle of Wight may be just five miles off the mainland, but it’s a different world. Nowhere in the country can match it for geographical variety in its 23 mile long and 13 mile wide, stretch of land. You will find quiet fishing harbours and quaint towns and villages, along with stretches of golden sand and unspoilt, award-winning beaches. More than half the Isle of Wight is designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and with spectacular scenery and a rich royal heritage, the island has plenty to offer all year round. Our charming seaside town base of Sandown, nestled on the island's eastern coast, beckons with its captivating blend of natural beauty, history and fun. Whether you're seeking a tranquil beach retreat, an adventurous exploration of the island's treasures, or a journey through its rich history, this break offers a short yet memorable visit.

We'll whisk you away and over the water on the short crossing from the mainland to then arrive at your hotel in Sandown. The Burlington Hotel is in a central seaside location set back just 2 minutes walk from the beach and town centre.

You can simply relax and explore the historic resort of Sandown at your own pace. Alternatively, join us as we explore some of the best the island has to offer with a scenic 'Round the Island Tour' and a delightful half day visit to Shanklin.

An ideal choice for:

* Anyone looking for a great value weekend away by the sea
* People curious to explore this popular holiday island at a great price
* Traditional seaside lovers looking for a relaxing long weekend break
* Lovers of picture-perfect settings and scenery

Itinerary

Day 1

Join your comfortable coach at your convenient local pick up point this morning, and head to the south coast, with coffee/lunch stops along the way. We take the short ferry crossing to the lovely Isle of Wight. On arrival at your hotel in the popular resort of Sandown there will be time to settle in and relax or perhaps take a stroll for a breath of sea air along the pretty prom. Make sure you have time for a drink in the bar before enjoying your first evening meal.

Days 2 & 3

Enjoy a traditional English breakfast each day to set you up properly for your day ahead.

Your centrally located hotel makes the typical Victorian seaside resort of Sandown easy to explore. It may still be a bit chilly for a paddle but perhaps take a stroll on the sandy beach or Esplanade. If you have a wander along Sandown Bay you could find a very special old souvenir with the island having one of the highest concentrations of dinosaur fossils anywhere in the world! Sit on the prom and watch the world go by maybe with some fish and chips or an ice cream! Or simply unwind in one of the tea rooms or enjoy a glass of Cider in one of the traditional pubs.

You'll have plenty of time to explore Sandown and maybe go even further? Having said that, if you don't want the hassle of organising everything yourself then make sure you join us on our fabulous excursions to see the island on our scenic 'around the island tour', plus time in Shankin.

Relax at the end of each day with your included evening meals plus entertainment provided by your hotel. Or you may prefer a wander out along the lovely prom to watch the twinkling lights on the sea and take in the traditional entertainment of the nearby pier.

Day 4

After a final hearty breakfast it is time to say farewell to the Isle of Wight today. Board your comfortable coach for the short crossing across the Solent, and a relaxing onward journey home full of lovely memories.
