Staying at the comfortable Ibis Greenwich for two nights on a bed and breakfast basis, you’ll be perfectly situated to explore the historic charms of Greenwich, home to Cutty Sark, the National Maritime Museum, the Old Royal Naval College and the Royal Observatory - the site of the Greenwich meridian line - and the picturesque Greenwich Park. Itinerary
Day 1
Join your coach this morning for your journey towards London. We'll head straight for the exciting new development at Battersea Power Station where you will have ample opportunity to explore this vibrant new area. Rejoin your coach afterwards for the transfer to Greenwich and your comfortable overnight hotel.
Day 2
After a good night's sleep enjoy a hearty breakfast and then you have the choice of doing your own thing in and around Greenwich or going into Central London.We will include a transfer into London where you are free to enjoy the rest of the day as you please. Alternatively for a unique way to see the sights you could take a return trip on the Thames Clipper from Greenwich into Central London.
For those staying in Greenwich, you could spend time at the Royal Museums. The Royal Observatory, home to Greenwich Mean Time, is where we can stand astride the historic Meridian Line. You can also discover the National Maritime Museum and Queen’s House. Perhaps climb aboard the famous Cutty Sark and admire the towering masts and 11 miles of rigging.
Alternatively we include a transfer by coach dropping near to Covent Garden from where you are free to enjoy the rest of the day as you please. Spend time sightseeing, shopping or simply watching the world go by from a trendy café or bar. The London Eye and other attractions along the South Bank are nearby, plus other highlights such as Leicester Square, The National Gallery and Trafalgar Square are also within easy reach. For a different perspective, hop on one of the world-famous red double-decker London buses or a city sightseeing tour. Alternatively, get on a tube on the London Underground to easily reach other sights to explore. For something a little further afield try one of the many amazing markets such as trendy Camden, foodie Borough Market, Portobello Road for fab food and antiques, or stylish Spitalfields. There is so much to choose from!
Rejoin your coach to return to your hotel in Greenwich late afternoon. You can stay later in Central London if you wish to do so and make your own way back to the hotel by either tube or by boat.
Day 3
Enjoy a great breakfast this morning before spending the morning with some more time in Greenwich. Perhaps visit Greenwich Market for shopping, discover the Chapel at the Old Royal Naval College, or simply have a nice stroll through Greenwich Park. Rejoin your coach later today and relax as you head homewards.
Battersea Power Station
The newly redeveloped Battersea Power Station is an exciting destination for any visitor to London. This iconic landmark has been transformed into a vibrant hub of shopping, dining, and entertainment, while preserving its rich industrial history.
