Itinerary
Day 1
Join your coach this morning and relax on board as you head for Worcester where history and charm intertwine. Have free time for lunch and time at leisure to explore and stroll through vibrant streets, and soak in the city's rich heritage. Highlights include the iconic Worcester Cathedral, Tudor House Museum, Museum of Royal Worcester, Greyfriars House and Garden and The Guildhall Worcester. Savour local flavours at one of the cosy cafes or traditional pubs. You can also have a wander around the market which is held in Angel Place in the heart of the city centre every Friday.Rejoin your coach and head for your comfortable 4-star hotel where there will be time to settle in and relax before your included evening meal. Perhaps enjoy the leisure facilities or a drink in the bar.
Days 2 & 3
Enjoy a tasty buffet breakfast each morning before heading out on your INCLUDED excursions.We head into the beautiful Peak District National Park to the quaint market town of Bakewell, home to the world famous Bakewell Pudding, the result of a cook misunderstanding a recipe in the 19th century. Located on the River Wye, it is replete with stone buildings and courtyards typical of this gorgeous region. Don't leave without trying a Pudding how it should be made!. We also visit the magnificent Chatsworth House, one of The Treasure Houses of England, to discover the stunning house and beautiful gardens. The family home of the Dukes of Devonshire offers many rooms to explore, including the magnificent Painted Hall, regal State Rooms and beautiful Sculpture Gallery as well as a diverse art collection to admire, in addition to the extensive spectacular gardens including the historic Cascade, the Victorian rock garden and the maze.
Wentworth Woodhouse is one of the largest and most magnificent stately homes in England, located in South Yorkshire. With a stunning Palladian façade, the longest in the UK, the house boasts both Georgian and Baroque architectural styles. It has a rich history dating back to the 18th century and was once home to the influential Fitzwilliam family. Learn more about the unique stories of the house, on a Guided Tour with one of Wentworth’s expert guides. The estate is also surrounded by 50 acres of picturesque gardens and parkland, offering visitors a glimpse into the grandeur of aristocratic life. Whether you're exploring its opulent interiors or admiring its vast grounds, Wentworth Woodhouse provides a unique insight into Britain's architectural and cultural heritage.

Day 4
After a good night's sleep and a hearty breakfast it is time to say farewell to your hotel. We have one last treat in store as we head to the lovely town of Stratford-upon-Avon, for shopping and sightseeing. Forever associated with William Shakespeare, it is a thriving market town on the banks of the River Avon, filled with lovely half-timbered buildings and scenic riverside walks. Have time for a stroll along the river, or pop in and out of the varied shops, making sure to stop for lunch in one of the many cafés, pubs or restaurants. Perhaps head to Shakespeare’s Birthplace, a fascinating visit, where you can walk in the playwright’s famous footsteps, exploring his childhood home, hear tales of his family life and see objects from the Trust’s world class collection.Enjoy free time to do as you please before rejoining your coach later and relax as you head home full of great memories and amazing experiences.
Worcester

Bakewell

With many historic buildings, attractive courtyards, independent shops and cafés, and a location on the river Wye, it’s no wonder the town is such a popular destination. But for many people, Bakewell means the confection named after the town. In the 19th century a cook at the Rutland Arms in the town was baking a jam tart. A misunderstanding over the recipe resulted in the now famous Bakewell Pudding. Wentworth Woodhouse
INCLUDED Visitor DestinationWentworth Woodhouse in Rotherham, South Yorkshire, is truly a hidden gem and is full of remarkable stories. With the longest façade in the UK, a suite of grand State Rooms and 50 acres of private gardens, there is plenty to see and do.It is one of the largest Georgian houses in England, built for the 1st Marquess of Rockingham from circa 1725. Work was carried out on the house for over four decades before it was passed to the Fitzwilliam family. After years in private ownership, it was bought in 2017 by Wentworth Woodhouse Preservation Trust, whose sole purpose is to restore and regenerate the site.
Wander through the State Rooms* at your leisure, imagining yourself perhaps at a grand ball or luxurious dinner. Explore more than 50 acres of gardens filled with wildflower meadows, ancient trees, 18th century follies and historic plants.
* Although there are 365 rooms in total, only the State Rooms are currently available to explore as much of the House is still unsafe for visitors. They also don’t have a collection and have chosen to let the beauty of the rooms speak for themselves rather than filling the spaces with unoriginal items.
Please note, due to the age and nature of the House, there is no disabled access to the upper floors which includes the principal State Rooms. The Gardens are fully accessible, as well as the ground floor of the House which includes the location of the Butler’s Pantry Café and Gift Shop.
