Enjoy incredible views of the Exe Estuary from our lovely Georgian hotel, set in the heart of Exmouth's historic 'Beacon' district. A flat resort with two miles of sandy beach and a buzzing town centre, Exmouth is one of the oldest and most picturesque seaside towns in Devon and a joy to visit at any time of the year.
This vibrant town offers plenty of walking and a busy harbour as well as local shops and restaurants. The town is the gateway to the World Heritage Jurassic Coast and has two miles of sandy beach. Close to Exeter, this vibrant town offers plenty of walking and cycling routes as well as local shops and restaurants to enjoy all year round.
We also include a fabulous cruise along the river Exe plus an excursion to Exeter and visits to Sidmouth, Bicton Park, Teignmouth & Dawlish. There will be free time to explore Exmouth, whilst the hotel will lay on great evening entertainment for you too!

The Ashton Court
The Ashton Court is situated on Louisa Terrace, part of the town’s historic ‘Beacon’, where many notable people chose to make their homes during Exmouth’s Georgian heyday. The hotel enjoys super views of the Exe Estuary and the beautiful coastline stretching out toward Tor Bay. This panoramic scene greets us afresh every morning. The hotel has a restaurant, bar, lounge and lift.
After joining the coach at one of our convenient local pick-up points, we head for the south coast of England and the lovely seaside resort of Exmouth with convenient coffee/tea stops en route. We expect to arrive at the charming Ashton Court Hotel in the late afternoon. Check in, unpack and then maybe take a stroll along the promenade before your first delicious dinner.
Enjoy a tasty traditional English breakfast every morning along with free time to explore Exmouth on your own. In addition, make sure you join us on our fabulous INCLUDED cruise along the river Exe and our excursions to Sidmouth, Bicton Park, Teignmouth & Dawlish. Return to the hotel every evening to enjoy tasty dinners and some great entertainment.
After a final breakfast, it is sadly time to make our way home. After stopping for a coffee/lunch break, we continue homewards.
Sidmouth & Bicton Park
Sidmouth is a beautiful coastal town with a Regency feel which is ideal for visitors of all ages. Set in the middle of spectacular countryside, Sidmouth is home to beautiful beaches, stylish eating places and great shopping, with everything from unusual gifts, designer clothing and lifestyle goods available. Situated on the Jurassic Coast, its coastline is dominated by the vivid red sandstone cliffs which date back to the Triassic period. It is a great town for walking, be it a gentle stroll along the seafront or a more energetic climb up the stunning rocks. Make sure you also take some time to explore the town centre, rich in royal and architectural history, as well as discovering a great range of shops, cafes and restaurants.
Bicton Park Botanical Gardens is a delight for anyone who loves the outdoors and gardening. The gardens have nearly 300 years of history, and home to many rare and beautiful species that have been collected from around the world. Take your time exploring the Palm house, Tropical House, Arid House and Temperate House and wander the Italian Garden and arboretum.
Teignmouth & Dawlish
Teignmouth is a stunning coastal town with historic Georgian buildings, long sandy beaches, and fresh local food. The town sits on the edge of the mouth of the river Teign and the South Devon coast – and is surrounded by lush Devon countryside, so you won’t find a more beautiful setting for a visit. Teignmouth is the ideal year-round destination with a lovely promenade, Victorian pier, lido, play park and crazy golf all within easy reach of the beaches and town centre. Teignmouth Town Beach is a long expanse of sand with the pier, arcades and promenade whilst Teignmouth River Beach is full of beautiful fishing boats and has a wonderful quaint village feel.
Dawlish is a traditional seaside town with a wonderful golden sand beach on its doorstep. The town offers a range of amusements and is centred upon The Lawn and Brook, which is home to the famous black swans. Dawlish boasts a long sandy beach which is perfect for summer day swimming, exploring rock pools or sand castle building. Dawlish Town Beach is just a short walk from the town centre and full of golden sand. The town has plenty of interesting shops and a brook that runs through the centre of a wide open green, The Lawn, which is great for games and picnics.
Free time in Exmouth & Cream Tea Cruise on the River Exe
River Cruise along the Exe Sailing all year round on the constantly quiet and calm waters of the beautiful River Exe, these cruises are the best way to see the stunning scenery, wildlife and nature of this award-winning river. Our circular cruise departs from Exmouth Marina, travelling the peaceful waters of the river, up past Powderham Castle and along to where the river ends on Exmouth’s traditional seafront. With outside upper decks with plenty of fresh air and indoor heated lower decks, they are the perfect way to experience the beauty of this area – whatever the weather!
