Grand Burstin Hotel

Looking not unlike a majestic ocean liner, the Grand Burstin towers over Folkestone’s attractive harbour and offers excellent choice of facilities and a full programme of LIVE CABARET. Take a break at the Grand Burstin and dine in style, unwind in relaxed surroundings, maybe even enjoy a little light exercise in the Pavilion Leisure Club (additional charge). And for the evenings, perhaps best of all, is the entertainment...renowned as one of the UK’s great entertainment hotels, the Grand Burstin’s resident team put on the glitz and glamour for a different cabaret spectacular every evening.

Day 1

After joining the coach at one of our convenient local pick up points, we head for Folkestone and the county of Kent with convenient coffee/lunch stops along the way. We expect to arrive at the Grand Burstin late afternoon, in time for your first evening of fabulous cabaret entertainment and dinner.

Days 2 - 3

Enjoy tasty traditional English breakfasts daily and some free time to enjoy this great hotel and Folkestone. Make sure you are ready for your two fabulous included excursions to bruges and Hythe and look forward to relaxing every evening with your great cabaret entertainment programme and delicious dinners.

Day 4

After a final hearty breakfast it is sadly time to make our way home. After stopping for a coffee/lunch break, we continue homewards.

Bruges, once a flourishing trading centre, with its wealthy merchants’ homes built lovingly and to last. Through time, the city slumbered as a forgotten backwater, but its rich heritage and picture-postcard beauty could not remain hidden forever and inevitably Bruges was rediscovered as an unspoilt treasure. Visitors now flock to explore the cobbled streets and old guild houses in the Market Place, but it is the canals, with their ancient humped bridges, that create its unique character and which earned it the title of the ‘Venice of the North’. Small enough to explore by foot, horse-drawn carriage or canal boat, there is much to see - museums and art flourish, good restaurants abound and pretty shops sell lace, Flemish tapestry, specialty beers and chocolates…wonderful!

Please note that whilst we have a full day excursion to Bruges, after allowing for travelling time and ferry crossings we should have 2/3 hours to enjoy the city.

One of England's lesser known coastal resorts, Hythe adjoins Folkestone and is famed for its gorgeous beach walks. The Royal Military Canal is a hugely popular and easy route and ff you walk along from West Hythe, you can see the remains of the old Portus Lemanis, the original Roman port, now high and dry. The Canal was dug between 1804 to 1809, in the hope that it would defend Kent from invasion by Napoleon and halt a march on London. There is also pretty St Leonard's church and back in Hythe Town Centre, you can visit the local history room in Hythe Library and learn about the town, which has quite a history as one of the historic Cinque Ports. In front of the library there is a small sensory garden where you can sit when its fine and enjoy the peaceful park.
