Exeter is an ancient city on the River Exe in South West England. Dating back to the Roman era, the Exeter City Walls surround its centre and Gothic Exeter Cathedral. Exeter Castle, a Norman landmark, overlooks leafy Northernhay and Rougemont Gardens. To their west, the Royal Albert Memorial Museum & Art Gallery (RAMM) displays fine art and costumes. The vaulted, medieval Underground Passages snake beneath the city making this a fascinating city to explore at any time of the year.
River Cruise along the Exe
Sailing all year round on the constantly quiet and calm waters of the beautiful River Exe, these cruises are the best way to see the stunning scenery, wildlife and nature of this award-winning river. Our circular cruise departs from Exmouth Marina, travelling the peaceful waters of the river, up past Powderham Castle and along to where the river ends on Exmouth’s traditional seafront. With outside upper decks with plenty of fresh air and indoor heated lower decks, they are the perfect way to experience the beauty of this area – whatever the weather!
Teignmouth is a stunning coastal town with historic Georgian buildings, long sandy beaches, and fresh local food. The town sits on the edge of the mouth of the river Teign and the South Devon coast – and is surrounded by lush Devon countryside, so you won’t find a more beautiful setting for a visit. Teignmouth is the ideal year-round destination with a lovely promenade, Victorian pier, lido, play park and crazy golf all within easy reach of the beaches and town centre. Teignmouth Town Beach is a long expanse of sand with the pier, arcades and promenade whilst Teignmouth River Beach is full of beautiful fishing boats and has a wonderful quaint village feel.
Dawlish is a traditional seaside town with a wonderful golden sand beach on its doorstep. The town offers a range of amusements and is centred upon The Lawn and Brook, which is home to the famous black swans. Dawlish boasts a long sandy beach which is perfect for summer day swimming, exploring rock pools or sand castle building.
