Eastbourne & Brighton 2021
2021 - Glastonbury - 5 Days (CU5ABR)
Have 5 days away at Eastbourne’s spectacular seafront with great entertainment every night!
The sea breeze swishing through your hair, the sand between your toes and the smell of vinegary chips lingering in your nostrils: everyone has vivid memories of their childhood seaside holidays and the traditional Victorian holiday resort of Eastbourne is one of our best-loved tour choices. Eastbourne has a charm unrivalled on the south coast, with dazzling floral displays, magnificent Carpet Gardens, a delightful Victorian pier and a famous bandstand. The resort boasts a fantastic beach, with eight miles of coastline sheltered by the South Downs, itself designated ‘An Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty’.
The hotel you’ll be staying in is great value for money and located right on the prom and opposite the beach, ideal for sandcastle builders and romantic evening strollers, plus there is entertainment on three nights of your stay. This tour also includes great excursions to Brighton and Hastings & Arundel.
PLEASE NOTE: Price is per person and based on two people sharing a twin/double room. Single room supplements and upgrades are not included.
The Glastonbury Hotel
The Glastonbury Hotel is superbly positioned on the seafront. This excellent family-owned hotel is a particular favourite of Leisuretime clients. The hotel has a bright ground floor restaurant with great sea views along with an atmospheric bar lounge to relax in and enjoy the entertainment. There is a lift to all floors.
Join your coach at one of our local pick-up points and then head for the coast and Eastbourne! There will be convenient coffee/lunch stops en route and we intend to arrive at our seafront hotel in the late afternoon. Once you have checked in, why not take a stroll along the promenade or have a pre-dinner drink in the hotel or one of the numerous pubs and bars around the hotel? Then enjoy a delicious dinner and the first night of great entertainment.
Enjoy tasty traditional English breakfasts every day along with time to explore Eastbourne on your own. Make sure that you join us for our INCLUDED excursions to Brighton, Hastings & Arundel. Relax in the hotel every evening with more great dinners and fabulous entertainment on most evenings.
After a final hearty breakfast, it is sadly time to make our way home. After stopping for a coffee/lunch break, we continue homewards with no interchanges.
Head along the coast road, through the towns of Seaford and Rottingdean, to the resort of Brighton. Also known as ‘Doctor Brighton’ and ‘London by the Sea’, the unique blend of outrageous architecture and quaint streets has made Brighton England’s most fashionable resort for over 200 years. Wander ‘The Lanes’, the oldest quarter, lined with 17th century fishermen’s cottages and along the famous pier.
Hastings & Arundel
To the east of Eastbourne, we find Hastings, a seaside resort and fishing port. It’s best known for the Battle of Hastings in 1066, and you can still see thousands of years of history in the town’s streets. In Hastings Old Town you can still see the tall wooden huts used for drying fishing nets, and the largest beach-launched fishing fleet in Europe. At the other end of the seafront, west of Old Town is the beach, Georgian and Victorian buildings, the pier and colourful promenade.
Quirky, fun and cosmopolitan, the modern market town of Arundel in West Sussex is full of history and heritage, contemporary culture and fantastic leisure pursuits. Many people will know Arundel for two famous landmarks, Arundel Castle and Arundel Cathedral, which dominate its impressive skyline. Shop at independent retailers, antique markets and art galleries in the Georgian and Victorian town centre or eat out overlooking the River Arun in a pretty waterside pub, café or restaurant.
