Stratford-upon-Avon with guided tour and river cruise

Best known as the birthplace of England’s most famous bard, William Shakespeare, Stratford-upon-Avon is a pretty historic market town situated on the banks of the River Avon and a popular tourist destination attracting over three million visitors a year. With its beautiful surroundings, a wide range of tourist attractions and great shopping, it’s not hard to see why this town is such a hit with coach trip visitors. Hop on board a river cruise along the Avon, new for 2021, negotiating through the lock and admiring views of the town, and enjoy a guided tour of the town where you’ll learn loads interesting facts.

Cotswolds Villages: Bourton-on-the-Water, Stow on the Wold & Broadway

One of the delights of visiting the Cotswolds is exploring the different areas, each with its own identity. But all have those defining Cotswold features: golden stone, lively market towns and rolling hills, the ‘wolds’. Explore these English villages of honey-coloured stone and take in splendid, lively market towns.

Bourton-on-the-Water straddles the River Windrush with its series of elegant low bridges beside neat tree-shaded greens and tidy stone banks. Standing back from the river are traditional Cotswolds buildings, many of which are now tourist shops for the day-trippers and visitors.

Nearby Stow-on-the-Wold is another iconic Cotswold destination, located high up on the Roman Fosse Way and offering fabulous views from its position as the highest of the Cotswolds towns.

The village of Broadway is often referred to as the ‘Jewel of the Cotswolds’ and the ‘Show Village of England’ because of its sheer beauty and magnificence. The ‘broad way’ leads from the foot of the western Cotswolds escarpment with a wide grass fringed street lined with ancient honey-coloured limestone buildings dating back to the 16th century and earlier.
