Itinerary

Day 1

Join your coach this morning, and head towards the lovely English Riviera and your resort of Torquay, with coffee/lunch stops along the way. On arrival at the Riviera Hotel there is time to settle in and relax before your first delicious dinner and night of festive entertainment. Perhaps take a time for a seafront stroll first, or a drink in the bar to meet your fellow travellers.

Days 2 to 4

Enjoy tasty traditional English breakfasts each day along with free time to enjoy all the festivities on offer and explore the lovely resort of Torquay. At this time of the year, see twinkly lights reflecting on the crystal-clear waters and enjoy brisk walks along the award-winning beaches. And as well as Christmas lights across the Bay, there’s the Bay of Light Illumination Trail in Torquay, featuring glittering surprises and a 12ft musical Christmas tree. There will be a full festive programme of meals including Christmas Day lunch with all the trimmings, plus fantastic live tribute act entertainment!

Spend all of your time in Torquay or join us on our INCLUDED excursion to the historic city of Exeter on Christmas Eve - the perfect time for last minute shopping in the great range of shops and boutiques the city offers, and perfect for a visit to the beautiful Cathedral set on its picture perfect green.

Day 5

Enjoy a leisurely final hearty breakfast before we say farewell to the English Riviera today. Board your coach with time to relax as you head homewards with a suitable stop on the way subject to weather conditions.

Exeter

If you’re in need of a spot of retail therapy Exeter’s Princesshay offers a contemporary mixture of shopping, leisure and restaurants all within walking distance of beautiful Exeter Cathedral. It has an eclectic mix of global High Street brands, mixed in with local one of a kind boutiques – a shopper’s paradise.

You could also explore the Historic Quayside, just a ten-minute walk from the cathedral, and take a stroll along the canal past quaint antique shops, art exhibitions, local bars and lively waterside restaurants.

Torquay

Grab a bucket and spade for a day at the beach, wander into town to enjoy an array of brand and independent shops or just take a stroll and marvel at the unique beauty that Torquay's gardens, seafront and walks provide. Don't forget, if you fancy a bit more sightseeing, Torquay's marina offers a wide selection of boat trips, allowing you the opportunity to discover the English Riviera Coastline by sea. The covered Fleet Walk and Union Square in Torquay offer an eclectic mix of high street and independent stores, whatever the weather. A Street & Craft Market is also held on Union Street every Thursday and Saturday all year round with a variety of stalls from local businesses. Various bus routes offer further exploration with places such as Paignton and Babbacombe within easy reach.

Riviera Hotel Torquay

The Riviera Hotel in the heart of Torquay is the perfect place to enjoy good food, comfortable bedrooms, cabaret entertainment, superb indoor pool* and friendly customer service. Its great location is just a few minutes’ walk from Torquay’s award winning beaches, sparkling blue sea and all that the resort has to offer. The accommodation comprises 140 well-appointed bedrooms with tea & coffee making facilities and all Leisuretime guests will be accommodated in upgraded bedrooms** when staying for 2 nights or more on selected dates! Enjoy free entertainment to suit all ages on most evenings, including bingo, quizzes, professional cabarets and dancing in the fabulous Show Bar. The Sports Bar boasts numerous large screen TVs showing different sports events all day. WiFi is available in public areas. Meals are self-service buffet style and assistance is available if required.

There are no ground floor bedrooms however there is a lift, although some rooms still have steps to access. Unfortunately, the nature and age of the building means that the hotel cannot easily accommodate guests in wheelchairs, using mobility scooters or with limited mobility so please contact us if you have any concerns in this respect prior to booking.

Single rooms have a £5 per night supplement and are usually smaller rooms with single beds and are available on request. Single travellers paying a larger supplement will be in a double room for sole occupancy.
