The welcoming and relaxing Dilkhusa Grand Hotel is our base, in a great seafront location overlooking the resort and just a short walk from the attractive harbour. Our Christmas package includes a traditional Christmas dinner with all the trimmings, an evening buffet and a small gift from Santa on Christmas Day, plus a light lunch on Boxing Day and entertainment every evening. Have plenty of time to explore the resort itself as well as an included excursion to Barnstaple on Christmas Eve.

Itinerary
Day 1
Join your coach this morning, and head towards the wonderful North Devon coast and our lovely resort of Ilfracombe for our 4-night Christmas stay. A warm welcome awaits at the Dilkhusa Grand Hotel, Ilfracombe. Check in with a hot drink and complementary mince pie as we your luggage is taken to your room. Enjoy some free time to freshen up after your journey, perhaps relax with a drink in the bar or take a breath of sea air on a brisk stroll, before your 3-choice 3-course evening meal. The bar will be open in the Ballroom after your evening meal where in-house entertainment will be provided.Day 2
Your comfortable hotel Ilfracombe allows you to make the most of your free time to explore its beautiful location on the north Devon coast.This Victorian seaside resort is known as the jewel in the North Devon Coast. Discover a quaint quayside and harbour, whitewashed villas, lovely beaches, coastal paths. Why not visit the stunning Tunnel Beaches, hand carved in the 1820’s, providing a truly unique experience. There is also an abundance of shops and cafés where you could treat yourself to a delicious Devon Cream tea! Whatever you do, just make sure you leave room for your evening meals.
You can spend all of your time in and around Ilfracombe or join our INCLUDED excursion today as we head for the largest town in North Devon, the ancient market town of Barnstaple located on the River Taw. It has a wonderful mix of old and new and provides plenty of shopping opportunities such as the historic Pannier Market. It is perfect for a little festive shopping, with Devon specialities such as clotted cream and lace, and a variety of stalls from arts and crafts, prints, fashion and more.
Day 3
It’s Christmas Day, and the big man himself has visited the Dilkhusa Grand Hotel. Enjoy your morning breakfast, where everyone has a gift from Santa! After some time to take in the day’s events, enjoy your Christmas Dinner, served in the restaurant, including a turkey dinner with all the trimmings, Christmas pudding, and many other choices to satisfy all tastes.
The King’s Speech will be shown on the TV’s and the lounge will be open throughout the afternoon.
An evening buffet will be served in the restaurant before some live entertainment to sing and dance the night away!
Day 4
Enjoy Boxing Day at a leisurely pace at the Dilkhusa Grand. Breakfast is served from 8am – 10am in the restaurant. You can then enjoy some free time in Ilfracombe and take in the sea air. A soup and sandwich lunch will be served in the restaurant from 1pm – 3pm for you to enjoy at your leisure.
Your evening meal will be served in the restaurant before some in-house quizzes and bingo in the Ballroom.
Day 5
After a final hearty breakfast it is time to say farewell to Ilfracombe today. Board your comfortable coach for a relaxing journey home with suitable stops on the way.Ilfracombe

Barnstaple

The Pannier Market has been the host of markets for over 1,000 years and has been standing since the 1800s. It plays host to a range of events – from regular markets to showcases of delicious local produce and incredible street food. The Pannier Market is flanked by Butcher’s Row, a terrace of ten shops under an iron roof, which historically was the location of several butchers. These days, there are a host of interesting independent shops. You can browse the appealing mix of big brand shops and traditional family businesses along the High Street. Find out more about the region’s history at The Museum of Barnstaple and North Devon, the collections and displays cover the natural and human history, including the Pre-History of North Devon, the Tarka Gallery and the Regimental Collection of the Royal Devon Yeomanry. Just next to the library in the town centre, you’ll find the remains of Barnstaple Castle, this former Motte and Baily Castle was a main feature of the town during Norman times. Dilkhusa Grand Hotel Ilfracombe
Out of all the hotels in Ilfracombe, The Dilkhusa Grand Hotel has one of the most interesting histories. Originally a private house, ‘Dilkhusa’ means ‘House of the Happy Heart’ in Hindustani and was named by a Raj when he bought the building as a gift for his wife.
