Treat yourself to a wonderful weekend exploring the beautiful Belgian city of Bruges, one of Europe’s most enchanting destinations. With its picturesque canals, cobbled streets, magnificent medieval architecture and tempting chocolate shops, this delightful city is the perfect place for a relaxing short break.
Join your coach at your local pick-up point in South Wales or Bristol and sit back and relax as we make our way to France. We stay for two nights at the Mercure Lille Roubaix Grand Hotel on a dinner, bed and breakfast basis, providing a welcoming base for our weekend away.
The highlight of our break is a full day exploring beautiful Bruges, often described as the Venice of the North. Wander through its charming cobbled streets, admire the magnificent Markt square and discover picturesque canals lined with historic buildings and colourful houses. Perhaps enjoy a leisurely canal cruise, take a horse-drawn carriage ride or browse the many independent shops selling traditional Belgian chocolates, lace and other local specialities.
With plenty of free time to explore at your own pace, you can enjoy a delicious Belgian waffle, sample a locally brewed beer or simply relax at a pavement café and soak up the wonderful atmosphere of this historic city.
Before returning home, we include a visit to a French hypermarket, giving you the opportunity to stock up on French wines, cheeses, chocolates and other continental favourites. We then catch our ferry back to the UK and continue our journey home.
