2018 - Georgian Hollies - 2 Days (AUD0012)

Blackpool is a seaside resort in the north of England. The stuff of old English postcards, known for its fun and humor. There is plenty to do for all ages on a traditional British holiday.  The high-tech adrenaline of its famed Pleasure Beach amusement park. It's three distinctive piers dotted along the golden beach. And remember to pick up a stick of Blackpool rock.

There is a range of activities available if you are looking for something different. Blackpool Zoo, The Model Village and the Dungeons to name a few. If you need to do some shopping, Freeport is only a short tram ride away. In the evening, why not pop into Blackpool Tower and enjoy a waltz in the ballroom.

Blackpool's charm is its defiant embrace of the seaside holiday. It offers a mix of thrills, fun, laughs, and relaxation.

A half day excursion to Southport remains one of the most attractive resorts in England, and has earned the title of ‘The Floral Capital of England’s North-West’. Explore the shopping arcades of Lord Street, marvel at the largest marine lake in Britain and ‘take the air’ on the sandy beach.

Lake Windermere

Windermere, at 10.5 miles long, one mile wide and 220 feet deep, is the largest natural lake in England and is fed by numerous rivers. The Romans built their fort of GALAVA at its northern end (Waterhead), and it has always been an important waterway for movement of heavy materials. We will visit and travel through Bowness-on-Windermere – Lakeland’s most popular holiday resort – and an excellent center for boating activities, with over 10,000 boats registered. Until March 2005 Windermere was the only lake without a speed limit, but a 10 mph limit has now been imposed. Starting from Hatherwaite, enjoy a 90-minute circular cruise around the south of Lake Windermere with fantastic views across the wooded shoreline and distant Lakeland Fells. Split up your journey with a nostalgic trip on the Lakeside along with the Haverthwaite Steam Railway which offers beautiful views of the Levens Valley on this iconic historic railway.

Full of history, culture and friendly people, Liverpool is the ideal destination to discover and enjoy.  A World Heritage site with a wonderful collection of museums, galleries, shopping, and dining, there really is something for everyone in this fantastic city.
