The historic streets are transformed into a festive wonderland, offering an unparalleled experience for visitors of all ages. Traders, dressed in authentic Victorian attire, create a nostalgic atmosphere that transports you to a bygone era. The market is not just a shopping destination; it's a captivating journey through time. Indulge your taste buds with a wide array of festive food and drinks. From roasted chestnuts to traditional mulled wine and cider, the flavours of Christmas will tantalise your senses. This fabulous themed event has in excess of 300 stalls, and if you are looking for that unique Christmas gift or simply want to soak up the festive spirit, this is the place to be.

Then spend a day in Birmingham, a vibrant city brimming with popular tourist attractions as well as a bustling shopping and restaurant scene plus the Frankfurt Christmas Market! The largest traditional German-style Christmas Market outside of Austria and Germany is packed full of continental festive fayre.

Finally, we travel to Gloucester where the historic Gloucester Docks offers a dramatic waterfront, converted warehouses and an array of restaurants and bars. Next door is Gloucester Quays with more than 60 outlet shops plus the Festive Orchard St Market with many stalls offering a fantastic mix of gifts, craft and food.

Itinerary

Day 1

Join your comfortable coach this morning and sit back as we travel to Stratford upon Avon, a historic market town in Warwickshire situated in beautiful surroundings on the banks of the River Avon. Best known for being the birthplace of the poet and playwright William Shakespeare, it is a popular tourist destination attracting over three million visitors a year. Our visit coincides with the fabulous Victorian Christmas Market. Located throughout the town, it offers a wide range of stalls selling seasonal gifts, handmade items, street food & drink.

We will give you free time to explore before rejoining the coach later in the afternoon and head to your 4-star hotel to relax and have dinner ahead of more festive fun tomorrow.

Day 2

After a filling breakfast, get ready for a fun day in the heart of bustling Birmingham where one of the largest Christmas Market in the UK will be taking place. This one is directly from Frankfurt, and offers the best in German tradition, food and twinkling Christmas chalets. Enjoy free time to browse at your leisure and soak up the atmosphere and festive entertainment. Make the most of the city centre with great shopping including the famous Bullring or the fascinating Jewellery Quarter or explore some of Birmingham's history and heritage. Maybe enjoy a meal or snack at one of the many restaurants or cafes in the city centre or the food stalls at the Christmas Market itself.

Later in the afternoon, we will then return to the hotel to relax and enjoy dinner.

Day 3

After our final hearty breakfast, we leave the hotel and head for Gloucester. Set in a stunning waterside location, Gloucester Quays is the cities thriving leisure quarter and features an outlet shopping centre and the Waterways Museum as well as an exciting variety of bars and restaurants. Discover the popular Christmas Market where local makers, bakers and artisans will tempt visitors with a seasonal pick of festive food and drink, arts, gifts, crafts, treats and shopping inspiration. The historic docks also offer a stunning backdrop as well as giving an insight in to the history of the area with plenty of architecture to see.

This afternoon it is time to rejoin your coach and then head homewards with time to relax with your fabulous festive memories.

Stratford Upon Avon & Victorian Christmas Market

Stratford-upon-Avon is a pretty historic market town situated on the banks of the River Avon and a popular tourist destination attracting over three million visitors a year. With its beautiful surroundings, wide range of tourist attractions and great shopping, it is not hard to see why this town is such a hit with coach trip visitors.

Usually a town that is associated with the world's most famous playwright William Shakespeare, the festive season sees the award-winning Victorian Christmas Market taking place in the town centre. Stall holders wear Victorian costumes, there is entertainment throughout, including a programme of performances on stage on Henley Street and a traditional funfair with carousel. Around 300 stalls offer a whole host of products perfect as seasonal treats or as presents for loved ones. The town's rich history and ancient buildings provide the perfect backdrop and atmosphere to this ever more popular festive event.

Birmingham & Frankfurt Christmas Market

Birmingham’s Frankfurt Christmas Market is the largest traditional German-style Christmas Market outside of Austria and Germany and is packed full of continental festive fayre and traditional goods that are guaranteed to put a smile on your face. From the traditional German bratwurst sausage and gluhwein stands through to the intricate lacework, porcelain and handmade gifts, you may have to step back and remind yourself you are in this modern metropolis which is transformed into a quaint German Christmas world. Over the years, Birmingham's singing Christmas moose (Chris Moose) has become a Christmas attraction in his own right. Located directly in front of the Council House entrance, the singing moose (Chris to his mates) guarantees a Christmassy atmosphere and a lot of fun for young and old. Carols in the City as well as daily bands on the Christmas market stage create a romantic Christmas atmosphere. Enjoy a hot mug of gluhwein while listening to traditional Christmas songs or great Jazz music.

Away from the market, you can explore the famous Bullring and Grand Central for the ultimate shopping and dining experience - it has the UK's biggest Primark with the world's biggest Greggs! Alternatively discover the thriving Jewellery Quarter with over 700 jewellers and independent retailers including museums and great places to eat and drink.

Gloucester Quays & Christmas Market

Set in a stunning waterside location in the heart of Gloucester docks, just a short walk from the city centre and attractions like Gloucester cathedral, a visit to Gloucester Quays is always time well spent with irresistible outlet shopping and an attractive choice of quality dining options. Make the most of the popular Quay area's Christmas Market. In addition to the traditional stalls and entertainment, it is planned that the much-loved open-air real ice rink will also be back as the entire area is turned into a fabulous winter wonderland. The lovely Christmas Market has a number of festive stalls dressed with festoon lighting, offering a fabulous selection of gifts and crafts and delicious artisan food products, with some of the region’s very best street food vendors and bars.
