Experience the majestic and enchanting mountain landscapes of Austria’s Tyrol region. The stunning scenery and snow-capped peaks are legendary.

Based in the the small Tyrolean village of Imst which lies on the River Inn at the foot of the Lechtal Alps, our family run hotel is centrally located, close to all amenities. The town has a rich history, fine baroque architecture, museums and galleries to discover. A gondola lift can also take you up into the mountains for memorable panoramic views. You can have lots of time to relax and explore on your own whilst having the opportunity to join us on our included excursions to see more of this wonderful region. This is an ideal base from which to explore the Tyrol, including the ski resort of St Anton, the regional capital of Innsbruck and tranquil Lake Achen.

Overnight hotels on the outward and return journey will be conveniently located on our route on a bed and breakfast basis.

Itinerary

Day 1

Join your comfortable coach at any of our convenient local pick up points and start off on your fabulous Italian adventure as you head for Dover and your channel crossing to France. Continue on to your first overnight hotel, stopping en route to pick up some dinner, before arriving and checking in for a good night's sleep.

Day 2

After a good rest and included breakfast, rejoin your coach for the drive down into Austria and on to the River Inn and the town of Imst for a 5 night stay. We expect to arrive at our hotel late afternoon and in good time for your first taste of Austria at dinner. Unpack, relax and unwind before enjoying dinner and an opportunity to mingle with your fellow travellers.

Days 3 - 6

Enjoy hearty buffet breakfasts every morning that are guaranteed to set you up for whatever your day holds. Explore the pretty village, take a cable car into the mountains or travel to nearby villages and towns along the valley. Make use of the included Imst card which allows you to enjoy numerous benefits and price reductions with partners throughout the region. You can explore nearby Alpine villages or take a cable car into the local mountains and sample the splendour of this wonderful region for yourself. Those wishing for a quiet day can enjoy the facilities at the hotel including the swimming pool and courtyard garden.

Spend all of your time in and around Imst or to experience some more of this wonderful region, don't miss out on our INCLUDED excursions around the Tyrol. These include a full day out on a scenic route to include the stunning Fern Pass, Oberammergau and Seefeld. We also meet a local guide for a tour of Imst before travelling through the western Tyrol to the pretty village of St Anton with time to explore the vibrant centre or take a cable car ride into the mountains to enjoy the wonderful views. Last but not least, a visit to nearby Innsbruck, 'Capital of the Tyrol', with highlights including the Golden Roof, Imperial Palace and Hofkirche, then on to Achensee, the Tyrol's largest lake and a sparkling jewel in the heart of the Rofan Mountains.

Return to the hotel every evening for traditional 4-course meals and an opportunity to share your experiences. Dinner is a 4 course evening meal with a salad and starter buffet, choice of main course and a set dessert. On one evening, you will also enjoy a Tyrolean Buffet dinner!

Day 7

After a final tasty breakfast it is time to bid farewell to Austria as you board your coach and begin our return journey, arriving at your overnight hotel in France, once again stopping en route for you to grab supper. Check in to your comfortable hotel and enjoy a final night in Europe before the final leg of your journey home.

Day 8

An early start before heading back to Calais and your return crossing back to the UK. As you the head back home, there will be plenty of time to reflect on the holiday memories you are bringing home with you - and maybe a few souvenirs?

St Anton

In summer, it transforms into a haven for hiking, mountain biking, and relaxation amidst the awe-inspiring mountain scenery. The village itself is a picture-postcard setting, with traditional wooden chalets and cobblestone streets. Strolling through the village, you'll discover quaint shops, delightful cafés, and local restaurants serving hearty Austrian cuisine.

Fern Pass, Oberammergau and Seefeld

INCLUDED Visitor DestinationA full day scenic excursion across the spectacular Fern Pass. Enjoy fantastic views of the Zugspitze, Germany’s highest mountain as we travel across the border into Germany to arrive in Bavaria via Garmisch Partenkirchen. Then on to Oberammergau, a picturesque village with traditionally painted houses and a bustling town square, home of the world renowned Passion Play that takes place every ten years. Our return is via a short stop in the resort of Seefeld to complete a circular scenic tour. Seefeld enjoys a beautiful setting, framed by lush alpine meadows and overlooked by the mighty Hohe Munde mountain.

Hirschen Hotel Imst, Austria

This family run, 3-star superior hotel is located in the centre of Imst. It offers a warm welcome with a cosy bar and lounge area with a large restaurant plus a terrace area. All bedrooms are ensuite, comfortably furnished with television, telephone and hairdryer. There is a wellness area including a large indoor swimming pool. Wi-Fi is available and the hotel has a lift to each floor, however there may be some walking involved from the bedrooms to the public areas. Just a short stroll from the hotel there are a few shops, cafes and restaurants.
