Itinerary
Day 1
An early start as you join your coach at your convenient local pick-up point, and we head north, making convenient stops along the way for coffee/lunch. Crossing the border into bonnie Scotland, we arrive in Peebles at the wonderful Peebles Hydro Hotel, your home for the next 4 nights. Take time to settle in and freshen up, ready to sample the best in Scottish hospitality. Maybe enjoy a wee dram at the bar before your first delicious dinner with time to meet your fellow travellers.Days 2 to 4
Enjoy a delicious Scottish breakfast each morning and be prepared to be amazed every day. There will be time to relax at your hotel and enjoy Peebles, but you can also enjoy the fabulous excursions we have included showcasing this beautiful area. No matter what you get up to during the day, you can always look forward to a warm welcome from your hotel when you return, and every evening you'll enjoy delicious Scottish fayre. Snuggle up with a wee dram and look back on your amazing adventures of the day with fellow travellers.
Peebles is packed full of old-worldly charm and is just a short stroll away. This beautiful border town straddles the River Tweed and was made a Royal Burgh in 1152. Stroll along the timeless high street with its range of independent shops, and meander the alleyways and medieval closes which have barely changed over the passing centuries. For the more energetic, there are a range of walking routes available. Alternatively you can simply enjoy the facilities at the hotel. Why not sample some of the gin made onsite or book a relaxing spa treatment.

We also include visits to Abbotsford House, once home to author Sir Walter Scott, and Floors Castle, the largest inhabited castle in Scotland and residence of the Duke of Roxburghe. They are both stunning estates in the Scottish Borders, combining historical elegance with beautifully preserved gardens and picturesque riverside settings. Finally we discover Dawyck Botanic Garden, renowned for its stunning collection of trees, rare plants, and vibrant seasonal displays, creating a lush oasis that blends botanical beauty with tranquil woodland trails.

Made a Royal Burgh in 1152 by King David I of Scotland, Peebles has for many years been a market town cherished by locals and visitors alike, valued for its picturesque and unspoilt character. You wouldn't be the first to feel inspired by this artsy town, with many notable residents including John Buchan, the Scottish novelist, choosing to make their home here.
If you fancy a bit of shopping, Peebles High Street has a multitude of various independent shops and that classic old-worldly feel, definitely worth a visit. At the Tweeddale Museum you can learn about the area’s fascinating history. There are also many walking routes for all abilities or simply take a stroll along the banks of the River Tweed.
Edinburgh
The beautiful, dramatically set historic capital of Scotland is one of the most amazing cities to explore. Edinburgh offers superb sightseeing, historic buildings, secret underground streets, quiet galleries and museums, thrilling new attractions, serious shopping and a great choice of excellent restaurants, bistros, wine bars, pubs and cafes. Whether you head for Edinburgh Castle, its world famous Zoo, the underground history and intrigue of The Real Mary King's Close, the Royal Yacht Britannia or the Queen's official residence in Scotland at the Palace of Holyroodhouse, you will wish you had longer. Head to the Old Town, Princes Street and the Royal Mile for great shopping and immerse yourself in the atmosphere.
