Novotel Reading Centre
The 4-star Novotel Reading Centre is ideally located in the heart of the city. With some of the best restaurants, bars and shopping locations on your doorstep, it's the perfect base for our tour. After a busy day of sightseeing, a session in the hammam and a dip in the hotel's indoor heated indoor pool are both perfect ways to re-energise. The hotel serves great food and drinks in its Gourmet Bar and Restaurant in a cosy atmosphere.
After joining the coach, we head for Waddesdon Manor to enjoy its festive sparkle and lights. Take your time marvelling at this delighful stately home before re-joining our coach and heading on to our overnight hotel, the comfortable Novotel in Reading City Centre.
After a hearty breakfast, we board our coach and head to Windsor for our second excursion. Return to the coach later in the day, before we continue homewards and return to our local joining point later today.
Windsor sits on the River Thames and is home to Windsor Castle, one of the most iconic residences of the British Royal Family. Built by William The Conqueror in the 11th century, the castle was extensively remodelled by subsequent monarchs and remains one of the most impressive historic buildings in the country. The castle itself is surrounded by a warren of small streets offering a wonderful range of boutiques, shops, bars, cafes and restaurants for you to enjoy along with the impressive 5,000 acres of gardens that make up Windsor Great Park.
Waddesdon Manor at Christmas
Displays in the house this year explore Waddesdon’s connection to the world of music with a festive twist, from traditional Christmas carols to Christmas hits. Outside, witness the gardens illuminated with sparkling lights and colour. Gaze at the decorated house, indulging in celebratory foods and shopping for gifts. From dusk, the grounds will come to life with a light trail around the Aviary that playfully combines colour, sound and movement. The Manor’s facade will also be bathed in light with two unique shows.
Surrounded by views of Oxfordshire, the Chilterns Hills and the Vale of Aylesbury, Waddesdon Manor, is an ideal place for relaxing with family and friends. This French Renaissance-style château built by Baron Ferdinand de Rothschild in 1874 to entertain the fashionable world and to house his collection of fine art.
